Realistically you might have to set up a fire farm to kill them for you. It's a bit tedious but it'll work. Spoiler This is the best video on the subject I could find for Don't Starve Together. We keep rolling back and have tried the spear and two treeguards, and we still can't beat him. We are looking at trying boomerangs now. If you don't feel prepared to kill Deerclops yet you can just leave base before it spawns to make sure nothing gets destroyed. Additionally you could go to the swamp to kill it easyly and get some monster meat and tentacle spikes as well. Once you learn how to kite different enemies, Deerclops isn't that hard to kill, especially with more people. Make some log suits for everyone, spears (hambats are even better if you have spare meat and pig skin), and kite it by attacking 2-3-4 times (depending on lag and skill), dodging its attack and repeat till it's dead. You could also prepare some sanity-giving food too for when you go insane. Collect all the marble of the map during the first days of autumn while you explore, which must count to at least 12 pieces, make a marble armor but store it in a safe place (dont use it yet). If you got morethan 12 marbles make marble seeds and plant em. Learn to craft a football helmet and a hambat, and precraft a sign and a campfire before day 30. On day 30 also try to collect at least 10 cactii amd cook em. As soon as you hear deerclops growls, make sure you all run away from the base, have a hambat, a new football helmet, the cooked cactii and the marble armor. Wherever you decide to fight him, plant the sign (can read anything, it will lure deerclops he likes breaking structures) place the campfire and fuel it, and get armored in marble and helm (make sure to drop backpack away from the fire or it may burn. Also dont make the csmpfire too close to the sign or to other things that may burn). When you see deerclops make sure to lure him right next to the campfire, and once there start hitting him, making sure you stay very close to the fire so you dont get frozen. From that point on just hit him, tanking all the damage, dont stop hitting him. If done right you wont freeze and will resist his damage until he is dead. As soon as he dies pick the eyeball and eat all the cooked cactii to regains sanity. Side note: as wigfrid you can do this even without the marble, just make 2 or 3 battle helms and 2 log suits and you are good to go, the hambat, staying next to the fire and the sign are still important tho. As wolfgang I'd recommend the marble suit too but just make sure to be well fed and mighty when the battle starts, it will be much shorter. Eventually you will learn how to kite him, but for getting him killed the first times this works well. We are just learning the game which had a ton of added content from the original release, and playing a game for 20 hours and having it literally wiped every time one biased shows up isn't much fun. We are playing endless with the portal to learn how to play all the seasons. The whole point of the challenge lies in the fact that at any moment everyone could potentially die of something, so you have to learn to mitigate risk and maximize your survival. Rollbacks are designed for if a griefer joins and ruins your server (or if the game bugs), not as a crutch for multiple attempts.
