MrBetaSkull
Hi there, I would like to know if, by any means, it is worthed to use the Hydroponic Farm tile over the standard Farm tile when growing things like Mealwood that does not require water but only fertilization (Dirt). And is it possible to automate Dirt? I have not found a way. Please let me know your conclusions! TehPlayer14
Normal tile farm tile can do that already with auto sweeper and dirt storage the hydroponic ones are used to add water without need of dupes and also metal is more conductive in terms of heat spreading than farm tile Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87784-farming-hydroponic-farm-mealwood/#findComment-1006088 Share on other sites
MrBetaSkull
So, the "only" benefits for Mealwood is the heat in general? Roxanne4018
There's no benefit to mealwood and you will be wasting water Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87784-farming-hydroponic-farm-mealwood/#findComment-1006093 Share on other sites
Soulwind
Well you won't be wasting water since the mealwood doesn't consume water. It will just sit in the tiles unused. But you will be tying up a bunch of metal for no reason. And it's pointless to try and make a greenhouse for mealwood too since it can't be boosted. Yoma_Nosme
Because mealwood don't takes water hydro tiles will say no pipe input. Just put in a piece of pipe, doesn't have to be connected to a pump - or your mealwood won't grow in hydro tiles I would build hydro tiles if you are in your designated farming room because you can use it later for bristle farm. Otherwise just build what you like. If I had to decide between farming tiles (green) and planter box, I'd go with the tiles because you can use them as floor tiles and put paintings above (Usually the roomhight is 4 tiles) so you may counter the negative decor since in early base dupes may path though your farm Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87784-farming-hydroponic-farm-mealwood/#findComment-1006229 Share on other sites
