Tepidizer cooks off the germs for most people but honestly you can run them through the electrolizer, generally without fear, as breathing food poisoning seems to have no effect at all. Like it doesn't interact with the dupes from airborne so far as I can tell. Just make two slopes where one slope has polluted water and the other clean as the geyser will send hot water both ways.
