Air Lock Prototype and Chlorine Problems

Recommended Posts

So, I've included some pictures of it, as I hope to improve it over time, but I have created a prototype air lock. It's not at efficient as ones I've seen online, but I did come up with it myself, so there's that.

I use two pumps to double the speed and stop gates to prevent dupes from going to fast through it.

I've decided to start building atmo suit docks next to the next model in order to prevent suffocation.

On another note, the only reason I've even started on the air lock idea is that there's no clean way to get rid of Chlorine.

We have scrubbers for CO2, filters for polluted O2 (Though I wish there was a more efficient way to take care of it) and  generators for Natural Gas and Hydrogen.

Aside from Ore scrubbers, I'm not sure what good Chlorine does aside from getting in the way.

Looking for feedback on either thing, thanks for reading.

You can also use it to grow balm lillies for medicine. Which is mildly nice if you play on the hardest settings.  Completely useless otherwise. I like collecting it and freezing it for ****s.  Also use it on my exosuit docks where my dupes return from a germ area, but cold works just as well for that.

Yeah, there's not too much to do with it right now, hope that they will revisit the germs system, when they start to balance things out, and turn it relevant again so we'll have a reason to use chlorine.

I think that they could add a way to decontaminate water with it.

I'm used to fill a room with the chlorine and turn it into a storage room.

Actually chlorine is great for desinfecting. I use room full of chlorine and storage as first level protection when digging into slimelung because there is no faster way of how to get rid of slimelung than chlorine. Also duplicants having to go through chlorine environment before getting back to base serves as great way of how to not get slimelung into the base

If I recall correctly, morbs will consume chlorine and breath out polluted oxygen, which you can clean and use.

Nope. Morbs just generate polluted oxygen (with slime lung). They've never consumed gases of any kind.

This is an old bug and not limited to morbs but the creation of polluted o2 in a limited chlorine environment was annihilating chlorine to create pO2

Was building farm and using chlorine to keep out other gasses as I was digging into a little slime, built over top of a slime ball shoving chlorine into the chamber with it, half a cycle later it was a square of pO2, could actually watch the chlorine decreasing in value
