A few more recipes for the microbe musher would be a nice tie in - a seed pressing operation in the microbe musher for oil.

This could be edible or crude oil in bottled form.

I prefer it be edible and add to the cooking ingredients.

The deep fried effect is already there, but:

  • Sautéed Mushrooms
  • A roux of meal lice and pinchapepper

Then there's the apothecary:

  • oil of pinchapepper - lessens the duration, negative effects of hypothermia
  • oil of thimble reed + mealwood seed - provisional comforts regarding heat stroke
  • oil of Balm Lilly - removes trench stench

 ... I could go on...

What about this:

Energycrunch:

A reciepie for the Microbe Musher and Grill combined

Its an Granolabar made from varius seeds but mainly sleet wheat.

It provides 2000 calories but does take a long time to eat due to its crunchy structure

I like the idea of cooking oil being used as an ingredient for better quality foods, but I'm against the idea of using the microbe musher to make it.  The microbe musher is big, ugly, and power-hungry.  In my humble opinion it should remain an early-game stopgap we look to replace ASAP.

By putting the idea in the context of existing infrastructure, it at least contextualizes it to current game play.

Just about everything that's not plastic is pretty ugly. ... understandably decor suffers around such equipment

Ideally we would get a new machine - pressing seeds into food grade oil is a power intense process, I imagine that power requirement would either be the same or go up.

The biggest reason to replace the Microbe Musher (for me) is the fact that it's super greedy in regards to water. But pickled lice from the grill feels like a waste of time, and sleet wheat has water consumption issues of its own... to say nothing of interminable mushroom grow times.

The only benefit I see with pickled meal lice, is that it is an easy way to train up a master chef when you have an overabundance of the meal lice. I'm not sure if they do or do not spoil right now.

I think pickled meal lice improve health or give some kinda buff or something?
