Rellimarual Posted May 21, 2017 Share Posted May 21, 2017 I'm pretty sure this is caused by the mod I'm using, but want to doublecheck it doesn't happen in the regular game. If you mine the repaired marble clockworks (in their setpiece) on the full moon, they turn into regular clockworks that drop sketches when killed. Despite having done this a couple of times, I absent-mindedly decided they needed to be mined on the new moon, and when I did that, they spawned the shadow pieces, scaring the #$%& out of me and also killing me, although some nearby beefs finished them off. They did drop sketches and gears and also nightmare fuel. Is this a bug from the mod? I've fought the shadow pieces before. My expectation was that I'd have to craft the knight, rook and bishop statues to get the shadow pieces and that I needed to fight marble clockworks in order to get the sketches for the statues. So while the shadow chess piece fight isn't new to me, I had no idea that the clockworks (in addition to the knight, rook and bishop statues) could spawn them. I didn't realize there was a shortcut! So you mean that if we mine the (naturally spawning) marble statues on a new moon, they spawn the shadow clockworks (too)? I believe that mining these should give their corresponding head part, right? Or I'm just confusing something? Rellimarual Posted May 21, 2017 Author Share Posted May 21, 2017 No, mining the broken statues only gives you marble and prepares them to be completed. Then you need to find the suspicious marbles (heads) elsewhere on the map and bring them back to complete the statues. Once they're completed, it was my understanding that on the full moon they could be mined, which turns them into regular clockworks that, when killed, drop the sketches you need to make the statues, which can be mined on the new moon to get shadow pieces. But it's possible that just mining the completed statues also gets you the sketches.
