Tips, tricks, helpful hints!

I haven't seen anywhere really that people can just give general advice for the game. 

For example, Strength and Medicine afaik cannot be levelled during play, and are useful to have. Every other trait can be raised in game, so you can make people what you need them to be.

Diver's Lungs is a great positive trait, always look for it. 

Look out for perks such as above, and go for those instead of stat-boosting ones, which can be imitated by growth.

Similarly, dupes with stat-lowering abilities can be mitigated by levelling up, it is only negative traits like "Can't Dig It" that stop a dupe from performing a task entirely.

Avoid Destructive dupes, go for Vomiting for easy cleanup/recycling. Similarly, Small Bladder dupes can be used to 'water the crops, or so I'm told. (I have still never worked out how to really utilise this effectively though).

Avoiding destructive is even more important now as repairing actually cost you raw metal.

The deal about Small Bladder is that they produce twice as much "goodies" as a regular dupe. This will be in the form of polluted water (with lavatory) that you can turn into fertilizer to keep your bristle blossom farms going. In fact, probably the only challenge in making a 100% sustainable build is coming up with ways to make as much polluted water as possible from sustainable sources.

Another advice would be that when you have a steady food supply from bristle blossoms going with a little surplus, make sure to remove food storage boxes and (God forbid, fridges). Let the fruits drop where they are and let what is not eaten rot. It will turn into polluted dirt which can be composted into fertilizer.

I never take Vomiting, I think its too unpredictable.

Vomiters always vomit in the wrong place and debuff 3 other dupes that run through it. Good way to start a chain reaction.

Destructives can only interrupt some low tech buildings and thats it.

As the new branch has pointed out... don't get attached to a strategy. It's still way too early in development. Anything that can get exploited will get fixed, and new mechanics will make old strategies outdated. The infinite water supply of vomitting and messy dupes isn't needed now, so scratch those off the list.

Just to note, the branch is supposed to be pushed to everyone in a bit over a week, so if you haven't gotten it yet, you'll be there "soon."

Just to add my own thought. I do like at least one Amphibious person to do underwater construction. Other dupes don't seem to want to go in over their heads. These guys will go in as deep as they can until they run out of air. (Actual swimming when?)
