WX78 Question

I'm unable to find information about this, I apologize if this has been talked in the forums before and Im a bad lurker:

One of Wx78 disadvantages to balance out his special skills in DS, is starting with lower stats than the average character (Wilson). However, in DST this was removed and his only downside seems to be the damage when wet (and perhaps the amount of gears dropped when dead, compared to the amount of gears eaten).

I wasn't here since early beta and I dont know why this decision was taken, It's easy to guess it's because 100 to everything is too low, and in a team based world, it would make an early WX78's too useless and greedy upon gears, causing big headaches to the whole team, specially when summer hits. (Even now with 150 to all stats, this seems to be an issue with bad players as well).

My question is, given how tanky, glowing fast, and waste-food-processing-machine WX78 can get to be if played correctly, how easy it is to become immune to rain effects and how neglectable is the damage that water gives him, shouldn't DST WX78 have a similar lower stats trait back, but balanced out for a multiplayer game? Let's say starting with 120 points to all starting stats, but keeping the same max upgrades level. This would affect the PVP balance as well, but unlike other lower stats characters, it just depends on how fast he can get gears and change his stats.

Just to be clear, my point is NOT a "boo nerf wx78 I hate him", I actually like Wx78! I've just been thinking a lot about balance in general and I'd like to know the pros and cons of him having this change.
Other characters that can grow very powerful, like Wickerbottom, have less items to be prototyped for sanity gain, and the general no sleeping thing, which although in the long term run they are easy to negate, it takes some practice and learning, something that I believe WX78 currently lacks: as long as you can play Wilson, you can play WX78.

I think WX78 should be a rewarding character, that starts with low challenging stats, but can grow to be a great fighter and explorer in the team. (He will still be a gear-noming troll for nooblets, as he is now, anyway).

I think WX78 is not op at all. I don't even see that many of WX78 on servers. His drawback is neglectable, but it's still annoyance. Sometimes you just have to get wet, and as robot you can't do that. And on public servers you rarely can eat any gears at all, unless you are lucky to find ruins early so reaching his full potential can be difficult. I think it has to be player by more experienced players, especially when you eat any gears, because then dying can be really, really painful.

I am not WX78 player so I don't know, but is there actually any way to electroduce yourself, other than respawning at touchstone or pure luck?

 

Anyway you just gave me idea, I will try to max out WX78 stats on some public server, ruins here I come!

WX should team up with Wicker and Max to be charged. Also, volt goats.

So there is no way to reliably electroduce yourself? That's the thing with WX78, you don't always find good wickerbottom player or any wickerbottom player at all to eletroduce you.

Alone, I don't think there is apart from standing in a wet bronze exoskeleton on a mountain in a storm and shouting "ALL GODS ARE BASTARDS!!!".
