Tree45
So I haven't played in a long time and just picked up the ps4 version. I'm intrigued with this item because I'm hoping I can use it to move a heard close to my camp. Is this possible? I was just going to basically make a trail to my base using these, maybe have to hammer the previous one. Does this work or will they return to the herds "home" location? Ive heard about a method using the horn and taking them to a new location, kill some so they form a new heard and set a new home location. I didn't want to go this route though. Does anybody have any useful information in regards to this? Agin I'm on ps4 so no mods. Michi01
Not sure if it would work but even if it does the method with the horn is probably easier. JimmyJam
Just use the horn its way easier! Salt licks seem to be a little buggy for me.. I cant smash them with a hammer and when i burn them they go back to normal after a relog... I think it has something to do with a mod tho. AlternateMew
Adding in that the horn works fine. Maybe combine it with a salt lick. I split a herd in two like that. Used a horn (which we had plenty of, thanks to Deerclops wiping out all but one herd for us), some beefalo never followed at all. Maybe they weren't all in range. The rest came along and I waited for them to stop following me at the salt lick. They formed a second herd. AnonymousKoala
Horn/Salt Lick aren't really the best methods. Telalocator Staff is far better, as once you got it, just teleport the beefs(Or more correctly, a baby beef, so you dont have beefalos who keep trying to get back to their spawn point) instantly to where you want. This is indeed a more convenient and efficient, but also more expensive method, as it requires Foci (or at least one) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/70162-salt-lick/#findComment-813997 Share on other sites

A baby will not return to its spawn and will start a new herd? Can it repopulate by itself...... Beefalo are asexual? Lol Thanks for the answers ladies and gentlemen. Basically, a baby grows up into a spawn point(If I recall correctly). a single beef breeds, as the game does not check for a mate, it checks if its mating season, you're off screen, and its a beef(and an adult). Beefalos are in fact a single cell organism. 17 hours ago, Mobbstar said: This is indeed a more convenient and efficient, but also more expensive method, as it requires Foci (or at least one) I don't consider it awfully expensive when Maxwell/Wicker exist. But hey, to each their own. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/70162-salt-lick/#findComment-814321 Share on other sites
