Can Grass Gekkos still get sick?

Recommended Posts

To prevent your grass gekkos from getting sick, make sure you visit them regularly in Winter to give them new comfy sweaters so they don't catch a cold, or if they're in the Summer heat, make sure you put an ice pack on their hump, the way they protrude from their backs makes the humps most susceptible to the harmful rays of the sun. Unlike real gekkos, grass gekkos can spontaneously combust in the sun. If a gekko gets a sneeze or cough, give them soup on the daily and make sure they get plenty of rest. If symptoms continue, bring them to the nearest vet and apply the treatments the veterinarian prescribes.

On a side-note, am I the only one who thinks the grass geckos are kind of adorable?  The way they walk...it just cracks me up!  Also the position they sleep in reminds me of the way one of my cats used to go FLUMP completely flat on the floor, including the chin.  To this day, my family calls that the "dejected kitty pose".

I ended up accidentally camping near a large group of them while exploring the desert one day, and just sat there giggilng at their goofy bouncing walk for a while.  :p

Nope. I love these goofy things and am really disappointed by their herding behavior (they don't make new herds like beefalo do) because I'd love to keep them as pets, even with reduced grass production.

And I am happy to report there is something in the works to make them more permanent :).
