I have played it through a family account. but should I buy it?

I mean if you played it through family account, that means you have someone to play it with right ?, plus you can always just play with random people!

It gives ways to prevent griefing or better said avoiding them. If u dont really want u dont really need to mess with Griefers~

You can play locally, just with friends or on servers with active moderation. You cannot remove the risk of griefing completely from a multiplayer game, but if you enjoyed DST, you should definitely give it a go. The point is to cooperate, after all. Removing others will turn it into DS. In that case get DS. Having someone share DST for you means you have at least one player for your game. Then there are the forums and groups with a profile that can interest you. And buying DST gets you two copies, so you can give it to a friend and have them play with you.

You can play with your friends on a locked(password) server and griefers cant get in. Or, you could get a protection mod. If your playing on a pub, i think ice will stop fires, aswell as water balloons(1 ice 1 mosquito sack[throwable]). Plus, there are not to many griefers out there. If your looking for a griefer free environment, i recommend @Gingerbread group(called gingerbread cookies, look it up on community). It is open to all and has many members. If you encounter a griefer there just report him on the page with the specified evidence and his gone. Forever.(maybe not, but for a long time.)

Edit: Ok, there is no 'griefer free' environment but most servers are relatively griefer free.

Hey, maybe ask yourself a question: Did I enjoy playing DST?

If yes just continue as you did, if not, just stop. Can't advise playing more as it's not good for your health.

The thing is. I want to customize my character with stuff and be able to receive new updates. But I don't like griefing and some of the new aspects of the game. I like building and suviving, NAY thriving!

lmao a griefer free environment? There is no such a place unless you are playing with ur friends in a password protected server or you can play in an ultimately modded server such as a server with no hammering, no burning, no smolder personal chest etc..

You can have a griefer free base in public server without mods too. Build a base into ruins and it will be griefer free. He who comes to ruins 99% won't be a griefer even if he could find your base or build your base into somewhere hidden in overworld or caves. Chances for ur base to be found is higher if its built to overworld, and people are more likely to loot your base rather than contribution although there would be some very nice people too. So your best bet to make the base into ruins if you really wanna save it and only wanna have a base in a public server with your close friends.

I banned 311 people but still griefers coming up to burn a settlement.

You receive skins and new updates with family sharing just fine; only downside of family sharing could be that you can't play at the same time other member of yours family does.

If you like the game, despite grief and few aspects etc. just play it, if not don't. If you really like the game or want to play with family members then buy your own copy.
