Mudley
Every time I play, I feel on duty of grabbing any seeds I see on the ground and do something with them, because I know that if I don't, they will accumulate, and my world will be infested with rot. So yeah, I personally think they should just vanish instead of becoming rot, rot itself is very easy to get and I think this change would not make getting them a problem. RyanandLink
YEEESSSS please my world is littered with rot everywhere I go... especially if you're playing as Wigfrid. GangStarrWoWp
Rot is gud tho. Doesn't really bother me, but it would make more sense if the seeds turned into planted saplings or grass instead of rotting. That might be a bit much, maybe just carrots instead? Meneervis
It's a pretty good rot source if you use farms alot. But I can see why it's annoying. But is it that hard to pick seeds/rot up from the ground? They do, but not enough to compensate the number of seeds spawning. Just now, sirscrubbingtont said: It's a pretty good rot source if you use farms alot. Manure is much better to use as a fertilizer, and another material easy to get. I don't notice rot everywhere but i usually only play at most for 200 days before restarting. DarkXero
4 minutes ago, BlindGunner said: Do birds not eat the seeds? Feel like this isn't a problem / I haven't noticed it. Well, when you have a lot of people running around, and seeds drop towards the edge of the screen, and nobody picks them up, they just end up unloading and stay there until somebody walks nearby. Sometimes seeds drop on top of people, and people just walk over them and don't let birds get the seeds, then they walk away and seeds unload. Unloaded means birds won't go to them, as birds go around the players. Just now, BlindGunner said: How long are you playing any given world? I don't notice rot everywhere but i usually only play at most for 200 days before restarting. It's most noticeable on servers played for a long time. Sometimes I join a server and get 40 seeds in one day. Maybe they are not fully fresh, but 4.6 * 40 = 184 and a meaty stew is 150 hunger. Instead of just having seeds vanish, or spawning tons of resources, maybe have rot behave like ash? If you have rot in the ground, it goes back to earth. Too bad for the people that actually pick up the seeds to eat or the rot to fertilize/fuel. For Berry Bush farms and Grass farms you usually need at least 80 rot just to plant them, and then you regularly need to fertilize them when they dry out and in this case all fertilizers have the same effect no-matter what their "fertilization value" is. Which means using rot is most efficient and manure is saved for vegetable/fruit farms.
