So i've played for about 10-15 hours, Have most of the research unlocked and up to day 50 on my current life. I have 3 meat effigys going so theres no "risk" any more and feels like theres not much more to do. I love this game's concept and feel happy in the playtime/value for money I have gotten so this is not a complaint, But as an experienced/skilled gamer is there any futher challenges to be had?

Once I realised how strong armour was I haven't died since, previously got to day 30 without using any armour. Now I have Log+ hat It seems nothing is a threat unless I deliberately handicap myself. As i've only Died a couple of times I only have the Fire chick unlocked, but do the other characters really change the gameplay much? Should I just go hug a spiders nest and collect my XP?

first of all her name is Willow, and second u should kill your self for xp. ( in the game )

Build tons of pig houses and make them your friends by giving them stuff to eat then proceed to gear them up with hats of your choice: pigs can pretty much wear most any hats I believe. (I've only tried the football helm and spiderqueen helm) Fingers cross for adding the ability to give them spears in the future.

Then once you have your entourage built proceed to:

-Decimate a forest, whenever you chop trees down your fellow pigs will also do so with the nearby trees.

-Start a war with your local spider nest, I personally created a whole island full of spider nests (which I dub the Spider Kingdom in which from time to time I lead my army of pigs to invade.

-Proceed to slaughter all of them by leading them into a large bee minefield

-Proceed to slaughter all of them by leading them into a toothtrap field.

-Proceed to slaughter all of them manually with the weapon of your choice.

Nonononononono Pigs are for eating not making friends with.

Thanks for the replies ppl. I've beaten several treeguards, led small armies of pigmen, set some pretty fun ambushes against spiders and angered then chased down krampus. Been having a blast. I have 2 Pig towns within a days walk from my main base and had considered starting my own pig town. Sounds like a plan. I think my problem has been figuring out strategies to deal with threats too quickly, the random dogs killed me once, then I figured out a foolproof way to beat them without taking damage. The treeguards were scary when I was trying to run from them or lose them at night, but when I figured out exactly how to beat them they became trivial too. As Soon as I found beefalos, farming, berries and grass all became trivial to collect and hence food was a non issue. Obviously mileage will vary from person to person with this game, I just wish I could go back to fearing for my life and fighting to survive instead of wondering what to do.

For starters I would have prefered no grave loot items. As Soon as i found some graves I had everything I wanted researched in one life. Armour seems too easy to make. The football helmet uses the semi rare pigskin, but the main protective gear in the game needs only wood and grass... two of the most common items.

It would be awesome if there was some other form of reduction of resources in the game to worry about. Rather then sanity, bosses, enemies etc something like disease causing health loss/reduced food absorbsion or food going off. I currently am carrying around 20 steaks and a dozen cooked eggs, and have had many of these items for over a week. Stockpiling loot is always going to lead to lack of challenge. Winter will possibly have this effect. Maybe give people an end game option to unlock other characters or items without dying first, like "sacrificing" food/useful items for XP.

They're thinking of adding a system of spoilage to stacks of food, where it will make stockpiling more food than you can eat pointless because it will just diminish over time. (still in the thought process, though, here's the post on it if you wish to read/contribute your thoughts) But I think that's the kind of "reduction of resources" you're looking for, especially when it comes to winter where you'll have to worry about preserving your food as well as keeping on top of the stockpile. It'll certainly be interesting to see lol.

Something good should come from the next update. Also if you live over 100+ days you get to see the full power of the hounds. Have fun with spider queens and make spider hats. Be the powder keg of the biggest Bacon vs. Spider war using the spider hat. Gather all the fireflies.
