Why don't you make this a vote?

Unnecessary, as I said it here:

Welp, while I still hold my position, is clearly that I and the very few others who agree with me are in the minority. I was expecting that result so, not so much surprised, but it was still worth a shot suggesting it.

Removed unnecessary remark. Sorry, Mudley.

It was I who goofed first, no problem.

It would be slightly annoying to have to repair the cane or make a new one- especially since the materials to make it are only available in winter and rather dangerous to gather.

Which is kind of the point, as it stands now the cane is extremely useful and lasts forever - those two things should never go together in a videogame.

Great idea, lets add durability to the (fairly limited) item that everyone wants! Your expected ~2.5 tusks per winter if there is one walrus camp and you kill as soon as possible. I usually only end up with one. Adding durability would be an annoyance and nothing more.

How about no durability when just walking with it, but add durability when used for fighting?

I could deal with that I suppose. I just shouldn't have to worry about "is it worth walking there faster?"
