FreyaMaluk
Explosives will now either do work or do damage, not both. (EDIT) IMO, this change is not logical and ruins all the fun about letting things explode. Explosives causes massive destruction and "do work" at the same time. It makes absolutely no sense to cause just one or the other effect randomly. Devs please change this back. It is not very fun if you change everything for the worse. Let us keep having fun with in-game explosions.
CheeseburgerCockatoo
uhm... what? there was no change, unless Obsidian Coconades are messing with it.

The change I think he is talking about is noted Explosives will now either do work or do damage, not both. Perhaps he can clarify what exactly this means because it is kind of confusing. Machine Reaper
It might mean that they will either set things to fire or maybe not...
Developer Bryce Posted March 25, 2016 Developer Share Posted March 25, 2016 The change was for objects that could be worked by tools (axe, hammer, shovel, net, etc.) and could be killed. Butterflies are a good example - you catch with a net but you can also kill them. Previously, an explosive would actually "catch" the butterfly by doing work to it, then try to kill it - even though it no longer existed. This caused issues. It also effects walls, which you can both hammer and attack. Now it will only damage their health value instead of also doing the "hammer" action on the wall. It does not chose to work or damage randomly. If the item can be killed, it will deal damage. Otherwise, it will do "work" to the object. This change is also on a per-item basis, not per explosion. A single explosion can still both kill something and do work to something else. It just won't kill and work the same object.
