Romcyn
What do you guys usually do for the dry season? I leave base and explore for the entirety of the season usually. Do you stay in base and risk the eruptions totaling everything or?
Prakhar
I just stay in base munching on some honey ham. When the eruption warning comes, i take 10 ice, clothes, 1 honey ham and SCRAM to the ocean.

Daggaroth
For the first Dry Season at least, I normally build a small base into the Volcano near the Altar of Snackrifice, consisting of: a Crock Pot, an Endothermic Firepit, a Bird Cage, and possibly some other luxuries like an Ice Box if I can be bothered/have the resources. After that it is easy to kill Dragoon for Monster Meat and use the bird to convert them into eggs. The eggs can then be sacrificed to the altar, meaning that you can easily go through Dry Season without any eruptions. Then I am more or less free to explore or do whatever needs to be done really. How many eggs does it take to avoid any eruptions for the entirety of the season?
stl1234
First few ones, I explore a bit if I had anything to discover, until the first or second eruption time. Then I return to base, continue base building and stock up on flint and rocks, and collecting obsidian and dragoon hearts. Last days of the season are mostly spent about complaining about having too many rocks, and building more chests to put rocks in. If I can be productive in the upcoming hurricane season, I plan to build a self-sustaining base in the volcano, so I'll try to spend the entire season in the volcano next time. From above posts, i think that maybe it's time to migrate off of my island and build bases elsewhere.

Each egg is worth half a day; the altar will close when you're not allowed to sacrifice anymore. However, the altar has a 4 day cap of eruption delay to prevent you simply avoiding eruptions for a very long time without returning to the altar. I recommend giving it eggs until it shuts and then returning about 3 days later. Alternatively you can eat the eggs to live on the Volcano if you're worried about not reaching the altar in time. If you are out exploring and feel a tremor, a recommend using Coffee to return to the volcano as quickly as possible.
Rellimarual
I have a small base there, too, using thermal stones and a fridge to stay cool. But instead of a bird cage, I have a Doydoy pen. You can raise a whole separate flock there because it's a different world. Two Doydoy feathers fends off eruptions for about 4 days. Then I just fight dragoons to get hearts and dig for gold. I put the base by the obsidian work bench. I also save low-percentage tools and armor through the year to make the obsidian versions. I have an entire chest full of obsidian axes at this point. NoQuitting
Make sure to have a fridge and Endothermic Fire Pit made, go into the volcano and collect all the coffee beans! Make sure you had a whole bunch of log armors made and collect all the elephant cactus spikes. Then when your log suite runs low on armor you just add the spikes to it to repair it and add a neat little damage to attacker ability which is minor but adds up. Coffee -> Enjoy running and sailing super duper fast for 30 days after dry season is over and during dry season Cactus Armor -> Multiplies all your log armors you have because it is like a free repair and makes them slightly better
