sqrunktrep
A lot of firms get "briliant" idea to release game or game port from PC on IOS(for example IPhone 6) but android version is just community dream and we gonna wait a year for android version, for example Cut The Rope 2 was released on IOS but android version was release 6-8 months after IOS version, why firms do this? Android is in almost every smartphone and it's cheap compare to Apple IPhones can cost 1000$ for one IPhone, i could buy a console for that price, not a Phone! Also if you wanna release game on IOS and Android release them in this same day. But in all seriousness, from all I've found out, first off, the iOS app market is bigger than the android's, (although I'm sure Klei didn't really care about that) and a lot of game publishers seem to release games on iOS first... Maybe... it's better to do it on there...? Hmmm...? Or because it's easy to destroy IPhone? I got Sony Xperia M2 with glass on back and it's still fine after a lot of falling on the ground but my friend's iphone 5 display was cracked whem his phone fall on the ground Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/65023-why-klei-why-dont-starve-on-ios-but-on-android-no/#findComment-728986 Share on other sites

I believe from what I've seen iOS is much easier to code and program things with, much safer (As shown by how stubbornly they won't give up the backdoor and how the entire FBI can't get into one) and much faster, from all I've seen and used. Not trying to do a whole showy "Apple is better 5evr" thing here with you buddy, but it's still just things I've discovered. And there are iPhones selling for a lot less than $1,000, only the really new ones are going that high... But anyway, let me tell you what you aren't missing in the pocket edition. Everything. I've only played it a little, mostly because that's all I could play. It's... very poorly executed for phones, the iPad is better, but not by a whole lot. It's better to just play it on the computer... PC is master race after all. t0panka
- it is easier to make some app/game on iOS than on Android in general - imagine supporting "all" android phones this is nightmare for developers and not just because there are 239746329 types of hardware but people are rocking like 6 different versions of android and the newest version is only on 5-10% of devices (at least it was last time i checked) and newest iOS is around 80% - there is LOT less piracy on iOS than on Android so this means developers have actually chance to get paid for their work. Great example of this is game Monument Valley and those developers released infographic about their game, downloads, $$, etc. Spoiler This is from their blog post and they also had numbers about piracy but cant find them now but this article mentions it: only 5% of downloads were paid on Android and on iOS it was 40% .) - for example some Samsung phones cost same as Apple phones and also that price is without carrier (no one buys phone without carries in our country anyway so the price is low and the same) and with those cheap android phones you can't run newest stuff (DS) so you can buy console even for newest Android phone - cut the rope was Apple exclusive and because developers made this "deal" they couldn't release it to Android and that also means faster release on iOS and faster updates .) Lot of games are still Apple exclusive - by choice or because of that "deal". For example Chair entertainment with their Infinity blade games made deal with Apple for sure since their games were showcased on Apple presentations all the time so it is only win win for them to exclude Android. I guess Google is also doing this - paying developers to exclude other OS - but i don't know much about that. Microsoft also tried to pay EVERY developer that would port their app/game to Windows phones but we all know how that went - DS/ROG is really good on phones IMO ... there are some "problems" because of "small" screen but i really enjoyed it and still am time to time Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/65023-why-klei-why-dont-starve-on-ios-but-on-android-no/#findComment-729054 Share on other sites
johnsnake71
I'm sure it'll be on Android someday when they get the resources and time. Remember when they said no multiplayer long ago? Lol. EDIT: A bit off topic I know but what happened to my Don't Starve beta flair badge? Or does no one else have it either? I haven't been on this forum for like a year now so forgive me. As for the Android thing? It'll probably be released eventually, but Klei has other stuff on their hands currently. Maybe if we wish hard enough...
