Basically it boils down to availability of crates for easy boards, portability, and reasonable speed. In my recent save I didn't even craft a raft or boat until after about 15 days after killing Sealnado, and that was only to go hunt the Quaken. The time you save not chopping trees or picking grass for rope adds up. For example I usually carry two stacks of logs and 40 twig/grass each, but I don't get worried until I was at about 12 logs using Walani. Just don't fight at sea, I avoided combat at sea ride tons of waves, and explore non stop. A big goal with her is to get a lantern asap. Also leaving thatch bags/backpacks/other identifiers at key discoveries like water beefalo or a good home base is key. Believe me I didn't like her at first either but I'm convinced she's the 2nd best character for Shipwrecked now. By the time you pick a base you'll have an idea of where most major resources are and the best spot to place it. It's important to note that my strategy can work with some of the other characters but its effectiveness is pronounced with her. Warly seems like a good nomad but with his eclectic tastes I found myself spending more time cooking than traveling. Out of curiosity what day do you usually have your base started by? Day 4 is where I usually start my bases. I'm very strict haha. For me, day 6 or 7 is the maximum of days, but usually i do manage to fit it into day 4. It may not be your cup of tree but give it a go, just remember to leave backpacks in important places, like potential bases Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/64973-woodlegs-suggestion/page/2/#findComment-732107 Share on other sites

Not having a base until day 20 makes me nervous though. Daggaroth
I'm not sure if I'm the only one that feels this way about this, but I feel as though it would make more sense for Woodlegs' sanity loss from being on land to start off smallish and then increase over time. I'm not going to imply that any suggestions of numbers that I give could be classed as balanced, but to give a novel example, it could start at -1/min and then increase by 1 for each day you spend consecutively on land up to -7/min (even the Tam o' Shanter would not work). Likewise, the sanity loss would lessen based on how long he stays at sea. I also considered the possibility that he could eventually begin to gain sanity from his love of the sea, but that would probably be considered overpowered based on his already strong perks. I understand that my suggestion would also make him potential even worse for RoG, but as it stands he is more of a challenge character for RoG than enjoyable in a casual manor, so I kind of breezed over that fact as he seems to be a Shipwrecked character through and through. His abilities would probably need a bit of a redesign for him to truly be compatible with RoG. This also should be implemented... Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/64973-woodlegs-suggestion/page/2/#findComment-732306 Share on other sites
