When I really feel like min-maxing I make 2 of each and put one of each on different ends of my island so that i can just get on what i need and go.Armored boat for fast travel/ when the seas are dangerous.Cargo boat for when i know I'll need the extra storage space or when I'm exploring for a long while/ going to a treasure spot.i like having a Row boat + thatch sail in the beginning of the game. I like cargo boat but if I really would choose between any boat, that would be Row boat cause its classic and SUPER easy to make.
