I'm not buying anymore DLC unless Local Co-Op is added

Recommended Posts

A lot of people have asked about local co-op for a very long time, it's a feature many people obviously want, and the Co-Op mod isn't good enough.

I love Don't Starve, but I don't want to play it alone, and I don't want to only be able to play DTS on different computers when I have someone in the house sitting next to me. The multiplayer mod proves that Local Co-Op is something the developers can do, the mod just has terrible controls and doesn't let player 2 or 3 do much of anything.

The game was a great single player game but I'm done with it and I'm not going back solo. Unless I can explore new content with a guest in my home and mess around and adventure with someone else sitting next to me, I'm not going to bother with the DLC at all.

You can do LAN with DST, but yeah I want local co op too. That mod proves it can be done.

Unfortunately LAN is only for DST and requires multiple computers of fake splitscreen and fake splitscreen doesn't work well and it resizes everything so that you can't get all of your options on the screen, or otherwise your screen is shrunk down with big black bars around it making it very small.

multiple computers of fake splitscreen and fake splitscreen

Do you mean "or"?

I'm confused...

So...

let me get this straight, you want a local co-op but not on different computers... <__< so you want it in a single computer?

I haven't really used this co-op mod yet... would you be so kind as to enlighten me of your plight? O__O

Multiplayer - DST

Singleplayer - DS

During the beta, many people begged for multiplayer, the devs said no, because DS was meant to be a single player experience.

They changed their mind for many reasons and now you have multiplayer, lan included but not local co-op. As a different game.

You still don't like that, because you want to play with 2 or more players on the same PC. But that isn't related to DS, you don't want to play it alone? then go play DST, post this idea to the DST forum, don't come to the single player forum and throw a tantrum like a child that you don't like playing alone and demand local Co-op to be added to single-player.

DST is early-access, there many other priorities right now than that. I understand that maybe you want to play with your IRL friend, but since local Co-op isn't going to be added anytime soon, try finding a permanent buddy for that, make a post on the DST forum, on other DST related forums.

Also, can I get a source on "A lot of people have asked about local co-op for a very long time"?

This just sounds like saying "I refuse to eat my veggies til you introduce this specific vegetable I want, nyahhhhh."
Just use the mod, Klei and Capy have other things to work on, byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~

How the .... you want local coop to work? I didn't try that mod but doesnt this means both of you need to be on one screen? This seem like ridiculous idea not worth even thinking about. If this means splitscreen then it is even more ridiculous :D

We need more content for DST and not silly things like this. How about you and your partner (sitting next to you all the time) put notebook on lap and play with you DST?

In another thread he said he has only 1 pc/laptop.

Even if the idea sounded good, it wouldn't fit into all the lore and speculation, cause remember, the "sequel" of don't starve, which is DST, is multiplayer for a reason, sooooo, stick to DST, or use a mod, we've got shipwrecked to have fun with so, your welcome
