Health Penalty Optional in World Gen

I feel like there should be a setting that allows dead players to revive from the telltale heart or portal without that -20 max health penalty (or was it some other number?). I know the game has booster shots to fix this, but here's a situation: I managed to get some friends into DST (so they haven't played single player DS yet and are therefore very inexperienced) but they keep dying every 5 mins. Even though the server's on Endless mode and they can revive themselves, the health penalty quickly stacks until they can't do anything and they just give up. I guess I could just turn off night and every aggressive mob, but that's not really Don't Starve anymore..

 

Having the health penalty being optional just makes it easier to teach newbies. Opinions and ideas?

Sorry, I'm just thinking... Either you have some serious lag or rubberbanding issues due to which they constantly die over and over again or they are very very bad at the game. I know they're new to the game, but I don't think even a newbie would die after 5 minutes normally.
