XirmiX
From what I get crimson is like an old word for red and azure is an old one for blue. But what about other colours, like green or yellow? I'm curious as I'm thinking of one day implementing a lot of new bird types with a lot of new colours of feather within a mod (Not Creeps in the Deep/Creeps in the Deeps mod). This is going to be very long till I restart working on the mod I was planning on to make before as it was split into two and the underwater world mod was decided to be made separately and before hand. So, anyone knows in terms of such words as azure and crimson what the names of colours like yellow, green and brown would be (Other colours would be nice to know as well)? Are you relating stuff here to underwater? Because this isn't an underwater thing I'm talking about. ochre seems so far the only one I'd use for a feather name. It's just when I went to find the definitions of such words it had something like a specific "tone of red" for crimson, I think. When looking at ochre it was the same as crimson and azure. Reseda sounded good until I looked up definition, which wasn't related to a colour but a plant. I'm not sure how these colour words work, but azure and crimson are definitely related in some way and I wanted to find other colour words of this work bank. Not sure, but ochre could be one of them. Colours typically derive from the insects or plants they're found in or harvested from. Take orange for example. Yes, even crimson is named after a worm, but has been translated back and forth a lot. If you need other nice names (eventhough some of them are rather ugly colours in my opinion), mellow is a shade of yellow, khaki is a slightly yellowish grey shade, Mauveine is a purple chemical dye, palatinate purple is also known as university purple, and despite green being very common in nature, there's even a "brunswick green". I cannot help you any more though. That's my entire colour palette Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/50911-words-for-other-colours-such-as-crimson-and-azure/#findComment-612771 Share on other sites

blaaaat
Great, now I want to play Pokémon again. Wikipedia has a long list of colors and color names here. I figure that if you know what you're looking for, skimming through the list is just a few minutes work. XirmiX
Hmm, some of those I've found seem nice, but remember that this is for feathers, so, we already have Crymson feather, Azure feather and Jet feather in game. I think Ochre feather would fit for the brown one. I think that Cyan would be one, if I was looking for a bluish-green name for a feather (Cyan feather). Might consider adding a Cyan feather to the next mod project (Not Creeps in the Deep/Creeps in the Deeps).
