Specifically what is and Isn't included in DST

Recommended Posts

I am having a bit of a problem finding information regarding DST

Searching google and the forums and the wiki page I can't find a detailed list of what is and what isn't in DST... I know A LOT of content is missing that much I understand, but setting goals is kinda based on what you have to find and do and with out this information it's hard to know what phases of base build are irrelevant and what are not...

plus Winter... I haven't made it there. But once I do, can I hunt the hunting party or is that here? can't find information confirming this...

I know that all cave related things are currently unavailable

but the wiki page is so incomplete as to be un worth the read time

can someone plz help... what content is included... is spoiled rotten included for example? the update titles alone will allow me to search what DST encompasses... or if someone who has been around the block cares to edit and add to the wiki that would be a big help... the road map mostly says things like this bug or that has been added not what was original to the beta ... maybe I am truly that inept and for that I apologize but it's very confusing and hard to learn anything without exp but I am struggling to survive without foresight so...

thx in advance for any help or clarification

...can I hunt the hunting party or is that here?

Yes, MacTusk n' Son Walrus Hunting Party is in DST.

...is spoiled rotten included for example?

Everything in the Spoiled Rotten update from what I know and can tell is included in DST. One thing you should know though, is that smallbird's will stop following you if you logoff then reconnect to the same server.

what content is included...

I'm not the person to know Don't Starves Updates by heart to be able to give you a list on which of those DS content updates is included in DST. What I do know that wasn't posted above by other forum members is that DST Deerclops also now has the AoE freeze attack from RoG.

Spontaneous Combustions might be added

Behst trailur of Sturve Togather.

No, but to answer most of the topic maker's questions, DS' vanilla content is in

DST. The content in Caves and Ruins can only be spawned in though since Caves and Ruins aren't in DST due to those being considered "New Worlds" it has to spawn you at the new location you start in. And 99.9% of RoG content isn't in either (I'm saying 99.9% because the Varg is in DST).

So if we were to want to spawn in cave related items, can we even use them to craft things or is it a moot point?

such as lightbulb plants, can I build lanterns?

not that I want to cheat per say but since I can't go do the work for the items but want to craft things like the lantern, or more to the point it would be nice to be able to spawn in rock lobsters and bunnymen (and if I had tufts could I build more bunny hutches and the sleeping roll)

You wouldn't think that going backwards would be so challenging lol though most of the challenge is learning to do things in a different way than you are used to and being bound by restrictions that seem trivial but can directly impact how you play... I personally use the bunnies to farm silk and the lanterns are usually just using up the extra bulbs I collected when I surface so they don't just go to waste... then I spread them out around my base and pathways I frequent as a "just in case of emergency" light source

I think that things that use cave mats, but can be crafted at regular crafting stations (i.e. not ancient pseudoscience station), could probably still be crafted if you spawn in the items, because they're in the game, just not, you know, craftable..?

But I'm not 100% sure. Honestly, if you test it and figure it out, I'd be interested to know.

It's pretty much vanilla DS, without caves, without adventure mode, without the things or Teleportato, with bugs, and with the Varg(RoG)/Ewecus(DST exclusive) added.

Well actually, as it turns out, the Teleportato things do actually exist. What doesn't exist, is world progression itself (which is when you complete the Teleportato, and escape to another world, though you probably already know this).

That actually put an end to a 45-ish day long run, when me and 4 other people had made the decision, and put it to a vote to smash apart our constructions and pack up our things... only to find out after the fact that even though we completed the Teleportato and were all there, we could not use it. We could not progress to another world.

Which sort of just left us confused, and not in a position to really pick back up from where we were. But concern over how we could continue on from where we were ended when the owner spawned 50 pumpkins or so, and set them all on fire when we were all in them. Instant immolation happens to be a very quick death.
