(Ok, so I've figured out a logical reason Athena hasn't reacted to Wakana and Oxryklne.

Wy is made up entirely of nightmare fuel and is the size of a young boy. That's a large amount of nightmare fuel. However, Oxryklne and Wakana are small and Wakana isn't made completely out of the stuff. Thus she would only react to it if they used an ability linked to the fuel, as doing so would cause a surge of energy that would be hard to ignore.

Problem solved. Problem solved. We solved the problem, problem solved!)

"Then you must be the cause of its arrival. What have you done?" Newleaf glowered, glaring at each and every one of the humanoids.

[MenaAthena]

"We didn't do anything! If we were the cause if it showing up, we certainly don't know what we did!"

Athena glares right back at the towering giant.

Wakana: "Well, well, giant black tall things came, and it was night, so it was hard to see them, and they were in the dark, and then I threw a torch, and before that Wulfric came back, and now the bigger people are hungry"

*the frog got a chainsaw and sliced the treeguard into woodchips, then dipped them in salsa.*

[Blewcheese]

"Well, it arrived here. You must have something to do with the event. I shall stay here and wait for its return." The treeguard stated, immediately proclaiming himself a guest.

Wy turns to Wilson, staring at him as if he needed his word that the tree was not going to kill them.

Not being the most sociably adapt of the group, Wilson doesn't notice Wy looking conformation that he wouldn't die. Instead, he looks the tree over, weighing his options. He could try to chase the rude intruder out or kill it. They were large in number after all, and this wasn't the first treeguard he's had to deal with, albeit the first one to appear sentient. However, one of them had just gotten over being injured, and the rest of the group wasn't as experienced as he. Confronting the treeguard at this time would not be the best option, especially since it wasn't necessary.

"Very well. You may stay in or near my encampment to prove we had nothing to do with it. However, I warn you not to wear out your welcome."

Athena stared at Wilson in a "Wait, really?" kind of way, but the tree wasn't attacking them. Yet. She would remain on guard around it.

Wakana crawled out of the ground.

(Just waiting for Blew.)

[Blewcheese]

"Now, don't let me be a distraction." Newleaf eyed WIlson evenly, as if he'd expected no other response. "Keep doing whatever it is that you humans do."

Apparently this creature didn't know the outcome of an experiment changes when it is watched, especially when people were involved. Wilson shouldn't have expected a tree to know about a fact of science.

Another ding went off, signalling that the waffles were ready.

[Halved]

(Ding?

It's a microwave isn't it)

(Maybe it's just me, but I remember hearing a ding whenever the crock pot is done cooking in game.)

Wakana looked up at the Crock Pot.

 

Wakana: "What's in there?"

[MenaAthena]

"Waffles."

Wilson looked at Wy and Cypress.

"You two are welcome to some of the food if you're hungry."

Wy reaches the crock pot, then turns to Cypress and nods in direction of the waffles

Wakana got up on his tip-toes trying to reach into the Crockpot. once he touched the inside, his hand burned

 

Wakana: "Ow!"

(Why just as it started, the story stopped proceeding?)

(I guess this roleplay is allergic to story.)

(We just need to go out and gather food and the plot will continue. But we can't do that until everyone eats breakfast.
