- Oh, come on! Missed again? I am getting tired.

He said in mind when he felt that shade concentrated on other people.

Let's try something other.

He moved his body with some kind of magic or telepathy.

He wanted to go as far as he can move again. But then he felt that he touched ice.

- What the... I am probably going at bad way. Damn you, magic.

He passed near the ice felling that it started to melt.

When all of the voices calm down, he had his vision and movement control back.

- Holy God, yes!

Randy ran as fast as he could to the tree near it all.

- Come on, last try!

He saw where he moved earth. It was far away from shade.

- I won't make it bad this time.

Telepathy was used perfectly. He felt, earth is now his own. Small space but still. With last breath Randy picked this space up.

(Minik, the art of moving objects with one's mind is telekinesis, not telepathy. Telepathy is speaking to people through their minds.

Considering these are some of my character's main skills, I felt obliged to correct you.)

Joseph was somewhat surprised to see that the stranger seemed to be conscious. "Miss, can you hear me?" He sent the same message to her telepathically.

The voices block out Joseph's vocal message, but his mental one gets mixed in with all the other voices, so she heard bits of it. White tries to send one back, but all Joseph hears is gibberish with the only recognizable words being "pain" and "burning".

White keeps making a pathetic attempt to scoop snow onto her shoulder. She is rapidly losing control of the muscles that are melting off her body. The only sounds she makes are screams and whimpers mixed with gasps as she struggles to breathe. Tears sizzle as they roll down her cheeks.

Will manages to knock down the shade, and prepares to end its life when he begins to hear whispers in his head. He tries to ignore them, but they steadily increase in volume until they are deafening. There are only two words he can make out.

"Turn..... around...."

Will turns, forgetting the shade, to see a figure standing over White. One that no one else seems to acknowledge. Bael stood over White, looking at Will condescendingly.

"Look at this. Pitiful. You always like the ones who die."

The whispers stop, as does everything around Will.

"You seem to be having some trouble, so I showed up to watch. Always makes good entertainment. I remember that shade, you know. He's one of the ones I was going to give supplies to. Although, getting caught worked just as well. It got you imprisoned, and almost executed. And now, you're here. Where you can't touch me. This time, I really will destroy everything. Sometimes, people say you can't try one plot more than once. They'll know how to stop it. I don't believe in that. You just have to change the conditions. In this little experiment of mine, you are truly the independent variable. You stopped the process entirely. But when you aren't there... everything is going my way. I think I'm going to leave you, now. I have some more of your friends to kill. They already fled to the throne. They already set up a defense with Maxwell's help. He remembered what happened, you know. He knows what happened. They don't care what happens. They also remember. They don't want to get involved. But, soon enough, I'll have the throne. And then, it'll all be over. Good bye, Will."

Bael dissipated into dust, as time began continue. Will fell to his knees, knowing that everything was going to go to **** very soon. He didn't care about the shade standing right behind him, that had quickly risen to its feet. He didn't care about how he was about to die. He didn't care.

Violet turned to see how Will was faring to see him on his knees, the blank expression back on his face. The shade was walking closer to Will, ready to strike. Violet grabbed her sabre, and ran at the shade. She charged the blade, and swung with all of her might at the shade.

After receiving a fairly worrying mental response, Joseph uses telepathy once more, putting much more focus and clarity into his words. "Miss, listen to me. You're going to be fine. Calm down. Deep breaths."

The electrical shock deflects off the shade and flows into Violet, blasting her backwards and causing her hair to stand up on end.  There is no longer any undamaged flesh on White's shoulder.  As the burns begin to spread, the shade bursts into laughter, the evil sound bouncing off the sides of her head like an out-of-control basketball.

Randy saw that it just didn't work.

He came closer to tortured girl. There already were some people.

- Come on! We need to take her away! I know, what I am saying, this damned shade blocked my vision and movement but when I moved away it all was normal back! I can do it if someone will help me mentally! I am a bit tired!

He shouted through girl's scream.

- Are you okay with that?!

White heard more of Joseph's message this time, but only five words. "Miss... you're... fine... deep breaths."
With much effort, she stopped screaming, clenched her teeth, and started taking deep breaths through her nose. When she heard the laugh, a tremor went through her body and she let out a yelp.

The Forgotten instantly takes action, driving one spike through Joseph's arm and wrapping the other around White, holding her in place.

<She is ours.>  It growls.  <And there is no way to save her now.  Your friend is - >

An explosion of sparks and light blinds the group for a millisecond, and out of the flames charges a man dresed in a massive, bulky suit of armor.  It is completely black, with dark red flames flickering out of every crack in the suit.  The massive broadsword he carries is already in motion, swinging down at the shade.

"Mortuus fuerit, et depravatorem umbra!"  The man shouts, cleaving it in half diagonally from shoulder to pelvis.  The shade lets out an ungodly scream before exploding into a thousand glasslike shards, which bury themselves in the snow and are soon lost.  Quickly recovering from the jarring impact, the man looks towards Joseph, Violet and Will with eyes hidden behind a tall helm.  He nods, and then explodes back into sparks, leaving behind nothing but footprints full of melted snow.

Will simply lay there, eyes dull and gray. But this time, it was different. He was hardly breathing. He was literally doing to he bare minimum to stay alive. Violet runs after Joseph, and kneels down to look at Will.

"This is bad. Will isn't usually like this. He at least would sit up, and look healthy. But this; this is bad."
