Major problem with this... I only have 1 other sibling who would want to play this with me... why not two players minimum?

Its 4 players minimum. That doesn't mean you NEED 4 players to play with you. Just 4 players at the most.

 

EDIT- for instance you can play with 2 or 3 people.

4 players minimum means that the Develops aim is to make the multi-player at least open to 4+ players, this doesn't mean you can't play it with only 4 people, it means that you can have up to 4 and the multi-player will work, because if you actually think about Don't Starve, implementing multi-player is a massive challenge, why do you think they were so reluctant in the past?

 

But now that they have a metric **** ton of money thanks to the game (And the DLC) I think they are willing to put the great amount of effort to give us multi-player.

Hey everyone! I have a question I was wondering if someone could answer for me. I am not a PC player, I am a Sony girl. I play Don't Starve on my PS4. Do you know if this new co-op of the game will come to the console? I would read through this whole thread but it is really really long lol.  :joyous:

What platforms will Don’t Starve Together be available on?

Similar to everything we’ve done with Don’t Starve, it will begin on Steam / Standalone. Beyond that, it’s too early to tell.

Thanks, I knew they always put it out on Steam first I was just wondering if it was a definite thing for consoles. I really hope it happens because personally I am great in the game but my friends always are asking for tips and this is a great way to help out friends.

Well, first it has to be made (like Reign of Giants was) then it has to go through Sony's certification system (like Reign of Giants still is) So hopefully, Multiplayer will come out by Early-Late Autumn or Early Winter.

Don't Starve Together will be player by at least 4 people simultaneously without fault.

Alright… Now we’re talking! How much is it going to cost?

Don’t Starve Together will be a free expansion for all current owners of Steam / Standalone. Thank you for supporting us!

With the addition of multiplayer, the price of Don’t Starve will go up to $19.99 USD around the time Alpha becomes available.

Well I know it's £11.99 in the UK which is around $19.99...

Wow.... On the Steam store for the US it's $14.99 which is around £8.90...

So what you're basically saying is that for the UK the price is being upped £14.99...

 

Thank god I already have it eh :D

 

 

Feel sorry for those Australian and New Zealand guys though...

Not sure if this has been said before but.. I want to play Don't Starve with my friend when multiplayer is released. Do they need the RoG dlc for multiplayer to play? Because I have Rog.

No since the multiplayer part will be a free edition to the base game. However, your friend won't be able to play on an RoG world with you.
