Durability for straw hat

Why would you add durability for this hat? I does almost nothing and still has durability? I don't like this at all. It... It just felt like an item that does nothing (except for looking good) but never wears out, and now... And yes, I know that it has 20% water resistance, but still... That's not a lot... So... Yah... I think you understood me.  :wickerbottomthanks:

The Staw Hat used to have no durability because it had no purpose and now that it protects you from sun and rain so it needed a nerf (such as durability.) Plus it's made of cut grass, a gust of wind can blow it away and make it fall apart.

I don't think the minor sun/rain protection is enough to justify the quick wear out. Wearing this with the pretty parasol while standing under full grown trees still isn't enough to keep the rain back. By the time 12 grass isn't that annoying to go foraging for, I will have better rain gear and this makes the straw hat worthless. ( Don't tell Klei, but the miner's light gives the minor protection like the straw hat. Since it doesn't disappear at 0%, this makes it way better than the straw hat. )

There's a few things that don't make sense in the tech tree that are the way they are because of the relative model established by Klei. It's not that these things make sense independently, it's that lots of things don't make sense to the same degree. For instance, Grass Suit vs Wood Suit - when is the Grass Suit ever useful? The cost-jump to the Wood Suit and the requirement of research at a Science Machine puts it about 1 day in research/foraging ahead of the Grass Suit. When is the Grass Suit useful thereafter?  

 

 

The 0% thing is crazy though, but it's an expensive investment for something with the same proficiency as a T1 of T1s item.

Don't tell me you have troubles to craft a new one?

I don't get what the problem is. The straw hat is bad because it's real purpose is to be a material for other hats (Miner hat- Rain hat- Barry Bush Hat).

 

I used to wear it all the time for the start of the game people it was slightly useful and a good cosmetic, now its neither.
