emerphish
I started on a default size world as WX78, and I knew that there weren't enough gears in the first world, so logically, I built the teleportato and went to the next world. That took 8 days. Then, less than five seconds from the spawn in the next world I found the chess place. While I was kiting a knight, the rook rammed into it and dealt 200 damage. That gave me the idea to use the rook as a weapon to kill the clockworks, and I did it using a logsuit and spear, getting hit once. They are supposed to be, as a team, like a mini-boss fight. Instead they can all die to the rook, who can just help you break down the marble trees before being led to something else. At the end of it all after a total of nine days, I just went from 100 everything to WX's insane max stats, with five gears to spare, which are basically never-spoiling jerky x 10. This isn't about the fact that WX78 is op like everyone loves to talk about, but the fact that the clockworks themselves are too easy to kill and to reap the benefits. Even for other characters gears are still quite valuable items, and I accrued 20 in half as many days. Do you think that the clockworks are underpowered, or are they fine as they are? ViridiZant
Personally, I think that they are perfectly fine. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/33306-clockworks-balanced/#findComment-435348 Share on other sites
Rosten
No, thats just a strategy, you could use the same logic to say that rock lobsters aren't balanced because they can easily destroy depths worms. MycoLogical
Bishops are more than okay.Knights hop away so they're okayRooks are helpful so a little underpoweredAnd Pawns are yet to be implement...but they will...oh yes!You heard it here folks! Misaki
Bishops are a little underpowered, they only menage to hit me once when I charge them with a spear and chop them to bits.I think they should attack faster but have shorter range. emerphish
hmm I think for those of you that think they are perfectly fine, you should try using the rook against them. He will 1-hit bishops, 2-hit knights, and is a tool. The bishops can maybe hit you 3 times if they fight you at the same time. An Artifact
I've been using that bishop tactic for ages already. It feels like it's gotten harder to do that since RoG. Anyways, I find the clockworks to be fine as they are, as they manage to still get a few hits out on me (at least the bishops do), and you can get yourself smacked in the butt pretty badly if you don't manage to dodge the rook properly. They might deserve a liiittle bit of a buff, but nothing major. Wilton
I think that is one of the charm of DS. Seeing the mobs fighting each other is really fun. I especially like when rook made his friend became pieces lolI hope clockwork can respawn, just so I can look my favourite scene again =D and before someone make a post that this will break the game, no the respawn version of clockwork won't drop any loot. JadedMeiji
I used that since I met the clock works. .. and I build arenas not just for farming but to laugh maniacally as they all die! New favorite is tree guards in the swamp... With wickerbottom I can replenish the tentacles but it's my new favorite place to lead everything to, spiders vs merms, hounds vs tree guard and then you don't know who is fighting who. This is the first time I plan to kill deerclops (instead of just luring him away from my base and losing him) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/33306-clockworks-balanced/#findComment-441958 Share on other sites
Khrayfish
They always seem to die way before I am actually kitted out sufficiently to fight them... I think they should be buffed for RoG and RoG only to be honest.
