Soopakoopa
Ok, I've done some studying of the MacTusk family recently. Whilethey're certainly not as friendly (or at least, not as trusting) as thepigs or the bunnymen, they're also not as aggressive as the communitymakes them out to be. So here are a list of myths, and truths, aboutTusk aggression patterns MYTH: MacTusk is hunting the player - MacTusk does not in factleave his igloo in the morning with the intention of murdering you. Infact, he seems to to interested in tagging along with you...to an extent.MacTusk is a sort of paranoid guy. He will follow along in a friendlymanner, but he has a 'comfort zone'. He stops following at about theedge of this comfort zone, and if you approach too much closer tohim he snaps and goes aggressive, as he probably assumes the samething about you that you assume about him. MYTH: MacTusk uses the hounds to "flush you out" - Some believethat Tusk will send in the hounds from a distance to get you into his aggroradius. This in and of itself makes no sense; if he wanted to aggro you, hewould do so in the first place, not send his hounds in with the sole purposeof getting you to invade his personal space so he can shoot you. And it'sa myth, either way; the hounds are completely loyal to him and will onlyattack if you aggro him in the first place. FACT: MacTusk WILL attack your followers - While he is not automaticallyaggressive to the player, he is to all hostile mobs and all mobs that drop fooditems...which is to say pretty much everything, although I'm not sure about Chesteryet. He will attack pigs without them getting in his aggro radius, and does the sameto most wild animals including tallbirds. Snob
Captain obvious to the rescue! Can we stop with this? I'd much rather talk about my favorite fat walrus, than to discuss about the forum newcomers. Soopakoopa
That is surprisingly fitting. It even looks, vaguely, like a blowdart that the walrus is holding. Zalyn
Thanks for the info! I'm going to try to go make friends with him without Abigail out. How does he feel about you killing another MacTusk? My bad experiences happened when I had just finished killing one MacTusk & co., then I got hit by a blowdart from nearly offscreen. I may have taken down one of his hounds without realizing it, but he really seemed to be angry at me to snipe me like that (obviously I didn't get too close to him).
