How old are the characters?

Recommended Posts

Everyone except Wendy looks legal to me.

Here's my list, from oldest to youngest.

1. Maxwell, at a couple centuries old, about 5-6 centuries.

2. Wickerbottom, at 65-74.

3. Woodie, at 44-50.

4. Wilson, at 25-30.

5. Willow, at 16-15.

6. Wendy, at 13-14.

7. WX-78, at 2-3. (Keep in mind he's an Automaton, he has been just invented.)

Yes, I didn't include Wes because you can't tell at all because makeup.

I don't think Maxwell is even one century old. He and Charlie were taken by Them in 1906. Wilson was taken in the early 1920's assuming this is reliable, Maxwell could only be about 20 years older than he was before being taken to the realm of Them. I'd go close to mid 40's to late 50's, assuming he ages on the Nightmare Throne.

He's had to be on the nightmare throne longer than that.

He's had to be on the nightmare throne longer than that.

I don't see how, though. Maxwell himself probably remembers it as being forever as time moves differently in the realm of Them, but in the real world it could only be about 20 years between the two dates. He was taken in 1902 after that failed magic act, and Wilson was taken around 1920, and then of course the events of Adventure Mode took place.

Doesn't change the fact that he was, infact, aging in the world of Them. Of course, he was kept alive by Them, but doesn't change the fact that he waited atleast 2-3 centuries.

I have a theory. Maxwell says that time moves differently in the DS realm, so that could mean that the void is kind of like Narnia in a sense. Time moves faster there.

An in game DS day is eight minutes. One year in the real world is 525,948.766 minutes, which means that there is approximately 65,743.6 DS days in one real world year. That means there are 180 DS years in 1 real world year.

Now imagine something like twenty years in the real world. That's 3,600 DS years.

I'm not sure if a day in the DS realm would feel like a real day, or if it would feel more like eight minutes. I hope it's the latter, but that would explain why Maxwell says he's been there for an eternity, and yet only twenty or so years have passed.

After rethinking it a bit, i'd say that wendy is more around 18 or 19, unless she's some gifted child, her vocabulary puts plenty of people I know around the ages of 12-16 to shame. hell, most kids I know don't even know what the word 'inevitable" or "transient" means, much less being able to use it in a sentence

My sister at 8 was able to use those words just fine, it just depends on upbringing really. Wendy could likely be a well read child as much as she could be a tiny 30 year old
