Is there a way to get rid of ponds?

Recommended Posts

I found a great spot to set up camp... the problem is all of those frogs keep attacking my bees and pigs! I think 15 ponds is a bit too much for one area, and would love to be able to get rid of some of them. Anyone know how to do this? Or does anyone know if I build a wall around them will that keep the frogs confined to that area? I'm not sure if they would spawn outside of the wall or be able to jump over it. Thanks!

You can't destroy ponds. However, you can destroy the plants next to them by burning them. I've heard that it's the plants that spawn the frogs and not the ponds themselves, but I'm not entirely certain if this is true.

Been there, done it. The plants spawning frogs is a myth.

I had a similar problem and a small wall indeed works well to prevent them from roaming where you don't want.

Wouldn't they destroy the wall?

Spiders, that are hostile creature as well, DO destroy walls without reason, so I don't think wall would be enough.

Everybody knows you take a Living Log to a Lightning Rod when it's raining and then when...ya know, I'm not feeling the "epic tales of BS" thing today :p

So let's continue:

Frogs are not hostile unless you are close. If you make a wall blocking them from getting to you, they will never be hostile. I'd treat it as a regular base came wall and recommend making it "doubled" however. I'd also recommend so you don't have to worry about damage from other creatures and the frogs coming in to make that wall one side and focus your main things on the other side where you'll be. So if this was the north side wall, your main camp area would be around the south wall area and the frogs could "guard" something like "transplanted berry bushes" or something else infrequently accessed,.

That would explain why I was never able to actually confirm it. XD

But, yeah, a quick look at the prefab files shows that it is in fact the pond that spawns frogs and the plants have nothing to do with it.

Put lots of pigs around it or wall it in.

Since pigs eat meat, the latter is the best way to handle it. If you make the wall big enough, you can even leave  a small opening to come and go when you please as they won't hop away.

Yes! U can build around walls, but why u need pond do that!?!?! If you build walls then you can fishing there! :/ U can set up base at swamp if you like fishing and hate frogs =)

As many have said already, building walls is the way to go. Although you might not actually want to fully

enclose it; if you leave a small section open, you can run in during hound attacks and usually get the hounds

and frogs fighting.
