003
I'd like to start farming Krampus for his Sack (I'm after day 100 so it's about time). Does anyone know a faster method to make it spawn than killing hordes of rabbits? I don't have the patience to capture them all! Hugo M.
One of easiest ways is to rase some small birds and kill them. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/30340-best-method-to-make-krampus-spawn/#findComment-387846 Share on other sites
gnarlytreeman
kill pigs. tbh tho rabbits are the easiest, or birds. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/30340-best-method-to-make-krampus-spawn/#findComment-387856 Share on other sites

Misaki
Pigs are the worst, they are hard to kite, pretty tough and can't kill them in crowds, smallbird are time-consuming.Good way to do it is:1.Grab feather hat2.Make ice staffs3.Go to rabbit infested area4.Equip hat5.When the rabbits go out, quick freeze them all and kill one by one.6.Freeze all the flying birds, and also kill them one by one. It will not only grand you food supplies but quickly spawn crampus. HoneyHam
Make some ice staffs and start a redbird holocaust. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/30340-best-method-to-make-krampus-spawn/#findComment-387924 Share on other sites
Tulingu
I collected rabbits and put them in a chest. Then I killed them all and threw boomerangs at birds that popped up on the screen. Krampus spawned and stole my stuff Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/30340-best-method-to-make-krampus-spawn/#findComment-387928 Share on other sites
NikMik
Get some really strong armour, a ton of boomerangs or blow darts, shoot/throw boomerangs at huge herd of beefalo until they all die, watch krampus run into view an begin stealing the meat, kill him, hopeful profit. Be careful: beefalo are really strong! I use a wakling cane so I can run back out of their range. aredshroom
I trap bunnies in backpacks (at least 6x8=48 points), then start culling them in my pig village (credit to MrGmview). Combine this with a boomerang for redbirds/snowbirds, Krampii will come really quick. the truthseeker
What matters is ease of killing and "Naughtiness" per kill factoring. (Edit: This could get long, so I've spoilered some things to help keep the window text manageable. ) Simpler Methods:Looking at the Krampus Naughtiness table below (spoilered if you wish the specifics to be hidden) it shows: Creature NaughtinessBaby Beefalo 6Smallbird 6Beefalo 4Piig 3Bunnyman/Beardlord 3Redbird/Snowbird 2Tallbird/Smallish Tallbird 2Pengull 2Rabbit and Beardling 1Bee 1Butterfly 1Crow 1 That Smallbirds and Baby Beefalo are the highest, followed by Beefalo. Now it's a pain to have to wait those days for baby Smallbirds to hatch, at only a 2 point differential, so let's rule them out for lack of ease or convenience (unless you're raising multiple ones, and have no problem losing them and waiting for more eggs to be laid later.) This suggests Baby Beefalo instead. Assuming you have a Beefalo hat so you're not swarmed while they are in heat, you can hit them, run from the herd and resume the (also easy to pick out from the rest) targeting of the baby, This also assumes you have enough Beefalo to do this without worrying you need the future numbers. The final "simple" option is Beefalo hunting. If you have a tactic for hunting and killing Beefalo without being herd mashed, killing several of them will quickly summon Krampus. A possible bonus for both of the Beefalo options is if done in heat and properly lured (like stuff on the ground,) you can have the Beefalo take care of the summoned Krampus killing for you! Again, this also assumes you have enough Beefalo to do this without worrying you need the future numbers. More Complex/Group MethodsThe others are half the Baby Beefalo/Smallbird Naughtiness or less, so they are not cost effective/hard to hit with their kiting methods and are not worth it unless you befriend a huge number of pigs and have them all fight each other with you bringing in the killing blows and making sure the other pigs still don't gang up on you; or have other massive ways to kill groups of creatures such as: Using Gunpowder when there is a group of creatures in/lured to that spot then blow them up. (If not worried about numbers remaining [or too much meat,] this works out very well on Beefalo herds close together!) The trick is for any large grouping potential making sure you make enough gunpowder until you succeed massively of course. Having a walking cane is highly recommended here. Misaki's Feather Hat/Ice Staff,Rabbits/Birds killing spree suggestion, Wickerbottom's dual book-readings of "Birds of the World" and "The End is Nigh." Regarding the Feather Hat/Ice Staff Birds/Rabbits Killing Spree Suggestion: All of these components require: (3 Black Feathers, 2 red Feathers 2 Tentacle Spots,) (1 Spear, 1 Blue Gem) and both a Presdihatitator (or the higher Shadow Manipulator) and Alchemy engine to prototype. If you weren't shooting/trapping birds before, this can be time consuming both for targeting the proper color of bird and getting a non-morsel to drop as well as the safety of getting tentacles targeted plus getting them to drop Tentacle Spots over Tentacle Spikes. If using a Melee method on Tentacles, it's highly recommended using a walking cane and/or "tank" type armoring. While it's not a difficult thing to do for an established player in regards to advanced base crafted items/structures, it is if you are somewhere before your first winter or even before your second one. Even if you are not, it takes time for all of this and could be done quicker if you use one of those alternate "simple" methods mentioned before. Regarding the Wickerbottom Dual Book-Readings of "Birds of the World" and "The End is Nigh" Suggestion: It's not a "simple task" to get the components for this dual casting: 4 Papyrus, an egg, a red gem and a Shadow manipulator to Prototype "The End is Nigh" book. The "Birds of the World" normally costs a Science Machine-level prototyping, and can be done by Wickerbottom without any machine if you have the components due to her Perk of crafting any Science Machine without a Machine needed to Prototype (but the ability to craft one Tier Higher was removed since the ":Strange New Powers" update.) So unless you're playing Wickerbotttom, this method is not available (unless you wish to leave for a new world, choose Wickerbottom as a new playing character, craft a new Shadow manipulator and continue with Krampus;) or "current world simple" to do, and takes the top tier of crafting machines before it is even an option even if you are Wickerbottom. This is why it's under "More Complex/Group Methods" So to summarize (or if you're just a TL;DR kind of person,) the best options are: Killing Baby Beefalo/Beefalo is the quickest way, but if you have a way of killing mass innocent creatures, it may be more productive, but (besides the Befriended pigs attacking each other Battle Royale with you doing the killing blows of which in itself is a bit complicated,) the other ways have more complex things to set up. 003
Thanks to all for replying! gnarlytreeman
also if you have a set piece with guardian pigs you can lure and kill 1 at a time if you are careful about where you stand. triplestrike
I dont know why people hunt rabbits...just get yourself a net and catch some butterflies... you can stack them(just make sure to not kill them all at the same time as it counts as one kill and you're good). As for killing pigs? lure a rock lobster or 2 to get their aggro and then wait till one of them hits the rock lobster(so they can't immediately attack you) and wail on them with your tenticle spike/hambat and they should be dead before they can attack again. Misaki
As for killing pigs? lure a rock lobster or 2We don't have time and materials to manually set pig house, destroy it, kill the pig with lobster and repeat.
