[Spoiler] Question about Woodie's curse

Recommended Posts

So he turned into the Werebeaver during a full moon. The day after i didnt felt like cooking a s**tload of stuff to boost sanity and health so when dusk arrived i sent him to sleep in a tent. As soon as he stood next to the tent entrance, he turned into the Werebeaver again.

Whats up with that? Its my first playthrough as Woodie and its the first time i send him to sleep in the 105 days. And i couldnt find any info about it. Is he unable to sleep in tents or rolls?

I swear im not using any mods and ive never transformed 2 nights in a row before.

1) Woodie transformed into the Werebeaver.

2) Came back as Woodie.

3) Let the day pass (you cant go to sleep during daylight)

4) As soon as dusk arrived i clicked on the tent.

5) Woodie transformed again.

Im not saying you are both wrong, at all. I trust your words cause you seem to be much more experienced than me and seems like you have been around for a long while. But i swear its the first time it happens. Im gonna wait till the next full moon and see what happens.

Well, i didnt knew full moons lasted for 2 days, so i tried sleeping not to skip the full moon, but to boost sanity and health. As i said before, its the first time i transform two nights in a row, and im not using any mod. Thats the main issue here. A bug maybe?

Then until now, your game was bugged since Woodie was a common new character; his updates meant the Werebeaver phase was to last two nights and any time it didn't it was (then) hot-fixed. If you were to (have earlier) posted somewhere you only had one full moon night, I'd tell you to Bug Tracker report it, so now you're caught up to the rest of us by whatever cause.

Welcome to the "2 night cycle planning" club of Woodie players.

I think it's simply the case of on all the previous transformations, OP actually stayed as werebeaver for TWO nights unknowingly, hence he was able to sleep on the third night after transforming back.
But on day 105 he only stayed as werebeaver for a day, hence triggering the transformation a second time...

I loved playing Woodie :) I always make sure I remain as werebeaver for 2 nights precisely to avoid transforming again and having to restore sanity twice per full moon cycle.

A good point. Have a Like on me.

Finally seen the light eh?

haha hell yes! Im killing too many mobs and getting their drops. Now I have too many silk, heal and mob meat + spider queen's hat. + kill that ent as Beaver haha so op. First time I pass that first winter XD

Sorry, off-topic, but gotta say:
Thank you for the likes, truthseeker and aredshroom, you made me braver to post in the forums :D

And yeah. Beaver is kinda OP, it's just not many people realise that :p People goes "oooh noes! Beaver again! Now I am lost, hungry, insane and weak." They didn't realise preparation is the key. Really a woodie player just need to be near tent and a food (even a berry will suffice) when they transform back, and then proceed to collect everything and be rich >:D

And thank you Purple Goldfish for your Math Guide thread!

(To all:) My only problem with "The Beaver" is it's hard to remember in the caves when the next change is happening. Sure, the surface and cave worlds are now (pretty much) synched, but you try doing moon cycle handling every 9-10 days without a moon phase indicator only using the day count if in the caves/ruins....

On the plus side, at least he can handle Depths Worms.

Thats what my first thought, i kept that in mind and tested some more and no, i stayed as a werebeaver for a night, i only chopped a couple of trees.

I chop many, hope to kill a Treeguard and save the rest of the unneeded wood for later...

po-taye-to po-tahh-to...

Uh... and then what happened? (sorry didn't get what is it that you're actually testing because you didn't say...)

Anyway. Just to be clear because I'm too lazy to post again:

A. Stay werebeaver for 2 nights (eat loads of wood to spend TWO nights) = stay human till next full moon cycle

B. Be a werebeaver only until before the sun set on the first day (don't eat anything) = werebeaver again on the next night

Any other deviation from above means it's some game black magic bug thing (or human information processing error) that I can't help you with :/

and off topic:

And thank you Purple Goldfish for your Math Guide thread!

Daww thank you for the thank you hehe...
