Opinion about Small Birds

I think it is better for players to have an option for whether their small birds or teen birds attack palyers' targets or entities who try to attack palyers.

 

Small birds and teen birds have very low health so they can't survive hounds' attacks or tentacles' hits.

 

It is almost impossible to raise smallbirds for palyers who survive more than 100 days because smallbirds can't survive hounds' raids and fire(from firehounds).

 

I think small birds don't need to be invincible but they should escape from too strong enemies.

 

If players can choose attack mode or non-attack mode for small birds or teen birds, it will be more easier to raise them.

Maybe they should have the same amount of health as spiders (100hp) and regen health when fed/ by healing them. Was thinking that that should help them from dying in houndfire, as long as you can kill the hounds and let them get away from fire in time.

Small birfd are actually a great way to get feathers, because the birds don't run from them. It's cheaper than a boomerangue or bird traps, that's for sure.

A pain in the butt that's not worth the hassle. I've never been able to raise one fully but it's just a drain on resources and it restricts you since you can't do anything dangerous while you have them along. And if you raise them they just forget about you anyways so I don't personally like them all that much. I usually get sick of raising them while I am in the middle of the process.

Tooth traps kill them. So, I don't use toothtrap while I'm rasing small birds.

I think small bird isn't one of main contents in DS. However, if we can't raise them, this content is useless.

Simple: thanks to the latest update they can follow you between newly generated levels, so take them in the caves to avoid the hounds. You can even hold off on hatching them until you have scouted the best places to hatch and raise them. 

 

But of course due to the Ruins' Horrors and now Worms, I'd avoid that cave level.
