LewisShaw97
Hello, I'm almost 18 days into my game so far and one of the only things I'm yet to do is obtain a bird feather to make one of those new weapons, the blowdart. However, I'm unsure how to get the feather without having the blowdart to help me so can anyone point me in the right direction? I've tried using a bird trap but that doesn't give you the feather.Thanks.
Toaster Fu
You do need to use the bird trap, but you need to catch crows. I have a feeling your catching the redbirds. I found some crow in the really thick forest.
501105
Also you dont get a feather every time, it is a random drop so it can take a few tries. You can also see birds sleeping at night sometimes, they make easy prey.
LewisShaw97
Okay, thanks. I didn't think the traps were doing anything since I used up two of them catching ten birds and not one feather. I'll keep trying.
Aerow
I've used about 8 birdtraps and after completely using them, I got about 2 crow feathers. Almost always its a redbird trapped.
Joyousterror
It might be useful to mention that crow/redbird are more likely to appear in different "biomes". You have a high chance of getting crows in dark forests. A high chance of getting redbirds in bright grass.
Trainer_Zero
I've heard that if you set your bird trap on a bridge, you'll guaranteed get a crow, because supposedly only crows land on bridges. Can't confirm though, as I don't have the bird trap, and the bridge is on the opposite side of this huge grassland.
Little Teemo
hmmm good point, i did c a lot of crow on the bridge....not a bad idea
CHeeseyx
Regular traps baited with seeds work just fine for catching birds, and I can confirm that it will always be a crow on a bridge, or almost always a crow. I've also never seen a redbird in a quarry/stone biome, so that's another good place to catch crows in.
