lmfao That was one of the more entertaining posts I have seen.

lol Thanks. Its true though isn't it? Does anyone else remember what it took to unlock Maxwell?King of Winter? Archipelago? Cold Reception? Darkness?Wouldn't you be pissed off if he wasn't the most overpowered? If after about half a month straight of trying you finally unlocked him and then people are able to say:"He has 75 health but regens sanity? Thats pretty cool. My guy glows in the dark, eats rotten food and is basically invincible but yeah, well done. Took me about an hour to unlock this guy btw. Only problem is he creates sparks in the rain... actually thats kind of an advantage... yeah... Anyway, you have fun. :-)"Oh and in advance to the person who does eventually say that to me; "**** you and your robot."

the 2nd time I bet adventure mode I didn't even get king of winter :) Maxwell could easily be my favorite character, If his health was a bit higher and he got new stuff like the others.

For me it was a fun 6 hours to beat adventure mode.

Then you're either the luckiest man alive or an inhuman monster.Either way the authorities will be round to capture and study you within the hour so that others may learn from your condition. Its best if you don't struggle. Edited by RaphielDrake

What do you mean it was not hard!

What do you mean it was not hard!

Not everyone is on the same skill level. Adventure Mode in general is harder than the default game, and you have probably played a lot more than them, and were more experienced when Adventure Mode was released. I for one had been playing since the birds and the bees and the dogs that want to kill you update, and yet I had never really taken the game seriously, so Adventure Mode was harder for someone like me that didn't really try hard at the game. Besides, some people just want a relaxing survival experience, with a teaspoon of danger added into the mix. Adventure Mode was at least two teaspoons.

Update complete - then crashed upon opening the game (both Steam and stand alone versions!). What to do without Don't Starve!! :(Update:Steam version is fixed by removing mods that have not been updated to the new version! Stand alone still iffy~

You seem to make Wx-78 OP on paper compared to Maxwell, which is not the case in actuality. I can do the same with Maxwell compared to WX.So your guy starts out with 100 hp, 100 hunger, and 100 health? Maxwell starts with endgame items, taking out the need to make a spear and armor early game. His armor aborbs 95% of all damage, effectivly giving him 850 hp the second he spawns. Thanks to the fact he starts with nightmare fuel, and a purple gem, he has the ability to make a Shadow Manipulator as early as day 5, making re-crafting his gear null of a problem. His sanity bonus allows him to use Magic items with no penalty, and can even eat monster meat with no sanity penalty. He can go into a cave, stand near monsters, and be in night time and get no sanity drain at all. Can WX do any of that at the start of a world? No.I just made Maxwell sound OP based on actual facts. Does that mean he's actually OP? No. All of this is theorycrafting. This can be done with any character in the game, perhaps even Wes if you were creative enough. Maxwell theoretically is already OP if you are incredibly good at the game and can take advantage of the above. But not many can. Edited by oCrapaCreeper

I will look at your points in order.1. Maxwells stats are as follows: Sanity: 200, Health: 75, Hunger:150. That you saw fit to put in the effort of typing two paragraphs but not the effort to spend two seconds fact checking on the wiki to ensure your points were accurate is rather puzzling.2. Maxwells items break. They are by no stretch of the imagination a permanent bonus.3.You still need to build the subsequent machines to construct the shadow manipulator. Your point that you can you make one almost as soon as you start the game is patently false. The player is still held ransom to luck when finding the resources necessary for the previous machines. The search can take anywhere from 5 days to 20 days. Also, nightmare fuel and purple gems are not so hard to find that starting with them should be considered somehow a massive boon.4. The sanity regen is a useful ability. This is not in question. What is in question is if it is on par with the effort it takes to unlock the character especially when put in contrast with the recent update.5. WX doesn't need to fear the effects of insanity if he is fully upgraded. Possessing 300 sanity, 400 health and 200 hunger tends to have that effect. Also, taffy is fairly easy to make.6. "I just made Maxwell sound OP based on actual facts." Also incorrect. Most of your points were inadequate. Infact in the cases of 1. and 3. you were outright misleading. The only valid point you had was on the sanity regen which has been countered. Edited by RaphielDrake

That's the whole point of the post. Like I said, it's theorycrafting. There's really no point in it, but I'll correct some misunderstandings here.1. As I said, I was taking Night Armor he starts with into consideration, not just his base stats.2 and 3. That screenshot I took was from a usual run of me playing Maxwell. It's very easy to make an alchemy engine on the first few days, even the very first day if you can find a rocklands fast enough. I did infact have an alchemy engine in another screenshot before I hammered it down for the resources. 5. That's assuming you have eaten 15 gears, which is NOT happening at the start of a world, and maybe not even the first world itself, as there's only 8 gears in a world. Graves are unreliable with the 3.07% chances of actually digging a gear up. You'll most likely end up with around 10 most times. The point is Maxwell is good enough as it is. Any changes to him need to be minor. Edited by oCrapaCreeper

1. The Night Armor is a non-entity. Its a toy to be used then thrown away and once it is you are left with an extremely vulnerable character with little in the way to compensate for his innate weakness.2. and 3. Lucky you. And that is what it is; luck. Luck in finding the rock lands relatively quickly which you yourself submit is a big "if". Let us also consider what great difficulty you would have encountered in finding your own purple gem and nightmare fuel. I ask again; once they are gone what are you left with? (Not entirely sure how your counterpoint included 2. but whatever.)5. So your complaint is that you can only be half upgraded (by which point you have about as much health as Wolfgang, probably more) in the first world if you're unlucky. That you might have to travel to a second world before you can become a walking tank. Is this seriously how you are attempting to claim that Maxwell is on par with WX and thus needs no changes? Seriously?I think you've just illustrated the complete opposite point. There are two characters who are easily unlockable that have been changed to be incredibly powerful. I have no objections to this. My only point, and it is a valid one, is that the character that is arguably the hardest to unlock in the game should receive changes that make it the most rewarding to unlock. This is fair.
