I wonder how the performance will be.

On pc, the game already uses a lot of resources. Loading the game and staying on the landing screen where you claim daily gifts will make my pc pretty warm. Simply starting a game will make it turn hot, not to mention if there's lots of items or if you have caves (I have to use the Don't Starve Alone mod to limit it to one dimension/shard to make it possible in the first place). Multiplayer has a very noticeable delay. 

Hopefully these are addressed in the mobile edition but the game needs optimizing on other platforms as well.

Never in my entire life did I think we would get a DST Pocket Edition before we got a DS Hamlet Pocket Edition. I am sad 🙁

It will genuinely depend on how optimized the game is, but perhaps not as insane as one might expect. Phones (especially high end/flagship ones) have actually gotten surprisingly good at handing pretty intensive titles. Compared to ~10 years ago when DS pocket edition came out, phones have gotten considerably more capable and I imagine can handle the extra load. It might not be the most pleasant experience ever, but it would most likely be playable.

I'm looking forward to it, especially since my origins of really getting into DS stemmed from the hundreds of hours I sunk onto playing it on my IPad Mini before I got a proper computer. Might be a nice throwback to make progress on pocket again for the Funzies.

There’s already a listing for it on the iPhone store page where you can preorder for 8.99$ unfortunately my IPhone 11 does not seem like it’s going to be capable of pulling it. The page appears to suggest a 14 or higher.

However, Unlike Resident Evil 7 or Village mobile which requires a iPhone 15 or higher, and I can not purchase at all (literally it won’t let me buy it because my phone won’t support it) strangely I actually CAN buy DST PE, though I’m probably not going to because it likely won’t work.

Judging by this… my phone SHOULD be able to run it (otherwise I shouldn’t be able to buy it like with Village right?) but I’m no phone Wiz so hopefully someone knows for certain.

But my question is, will purchasing the mobile version come with additional in-game digital skins? After all, the Don’t Starve board game does include extras. I asked on Discord yesterday but haven’t received a reply yet.
