I feel like the "issue" with the skins is a bit too complex for a simple solution, i suppose something klei could try is to factor in the skins players have in DST into whatever "spools" may be in elsewhere & just giving players that amount of it.
Kind of a band aid solution tho, I'm sure something better can be thought of

that was my thought too. let people have a redeemable "coupon" of a sorts to give them credit. it might be better to do nothing but it might also alleviate the worst of the complainers

that being said though i think it is best practice to not do something like that at all. it is a new game. i don't expect to get free things just because i bought and collected in another different game from the same franchise. not sure that others would agree though so yanno

.....also i was exactly now-years-old when i realized wx literally sXXts bricks.....lordy klei x''D

I do not see difference between Don't Starve Elsewhere and Don't Starve Together. (what do i mean is all comment here)

Don't Starve was a mix of survival and rogue like: core game has adventure-portal, DLSs make you have to move to survive (for example volcano and other crucial biomes, and aporkalipse)
Don't Starve Together is multiplayer, chill at base, plus not-seasonal-strong-bosses.

And what is makes Don't Starve Elsewhere different? Originally i thought it will be more like adventure-portal from Don't Starve (mist makes you have to move, land look like it prolonged in some direction). I am hoping for dungeons for Don't Starve Together for along time and usually do 20-30 or 70-day runs where challenge bosses (as "dungeon" i mean temporary portal elsewhere you complete tasks be it ruins rooms, forge arenas or gorge management)

If Don't Starve Elsewhere will in core loop be same as Don't Starve Together with same genre it will be Don't Starve III which is also nice.

no I’m not just name dropping a different game here

You literally are.. this adds nothing to your point. A game with different mechanics, different gameplay loops. does not mean anything when talking about Wilson. and you don't even elaborate i don't know what i'm supposed to take from this.

Now with that out of the way: I hope and pray that DSE has no skins in the game at all… EVER! Why? Because Solo DS had no skins at all EVER, but what did we get instead? Three major DLC expansions & a Campaign Mode.

Correlation is not causation.

Agree.

In my opinion, transferring all the skins from DST to DSE is not fair to Klei, and in terms of money and team resources, it would probably be better to spend the resources of "drawing skins" to transfer all the characters. I also note that I don't mind if iconic skins are moved, for example, a chest for an anniversary ,collaboration skins or, for example, skins for a board game

I am hoping that klei won't focus or put too much effort into retouching previous skill trees before we get all of them released first. It feels really bad that my favorite characters don't have a skill tree while ones that have had them for a while will get a "refresh". This is why I'd prefer If the skill trees for all characters are released first with as much effort put in as WX's and after that I wouldn't mind If old skill trees take some time to get up to par.

Many of us have noticed years ago that DST has been getting less and less content so that's where it was invested in, another game. I really don't like this too much as DST graphic design really looks like it is timeless and I don't see a need for DST 2 anytime soon but we are getting something akin to that.

DS elsewhere is interesting and I am hoping it will be as good as DST or even surpass it so I can play it for a really long time but the game I am currently playing for over a decade is DST and the slowdown with updates has affected my playtime a lot.

I do think that developers outdid themselves with WX-78 skill tree but these kind of updates need to keep happening and they need to be more frequent, I wouldn't mind any new games If they didn't impact DST.

Well, they are completely different games. They may look similar, but elsewhere is infinitely generated. So it’s a major difference, where your world is infinite, it systematically plays differently. Just how OG Minecraft and bedrock Minecraft play significantly differently.

missed this one. totally agree that it will be completely different. Thanks!

p.s. still do not see where infinity-information came from. procedury generated - yes, infinite - do not see

Well there’s still so much info we don’t know, but procedurally generated content usually means infinite. Either infinite size or it overrides existing area. I don’t see the latter happening though since base building would be impacted.
