only 1 skill tree? eh....for better quality i guess BUT FOR WX?!? like...there characters MORE in need then wx...like warly and webber like hello?!? thats such a down kind of feeling realy...wx is fine currently and not realy priority like at all....makes it worse that it only is 1 character only if it was wx with warly then yea i take that at least then 1 character thats realy in need still gets something and its only 2 characters wich i doupt would be that difficult to do....but man this stinks

alsol how that bunny black but others white? thats some weird sanity there

I do feel like WX-78 was in the top four for who needs skill trees the most, but I'd put WX at, like, number three. Warly's at the top, Wickerbottom comes next, then WX or Webber. Both of them have good amounts of progression, but I feel like WX-78's rework was really poorly implemented, so I'm kind of okay with them getting a skill tree even if I think doing a single one instead of more than one was a mistake.

WX is a good test, if it goes well then the same method can be applied to Warly and Wicker. Doesn't seem smart to test out new methods on a character the community unanimously agrees is struggling.

This would be a good argument if the easiest way to make her relevant wasn't** to just prevent Maxwell from using her books at all. It is objectively that easy. Just do that and experiment however you want with the actual skills.

Funnily enough, WX rework was actually a nerf... You could have light and speed just with a single wicker or with some telelocator staffs.. And don't forget about the stats you could gain after eating gears...

Oh, I know, but that rework was also a very interesting one. It had the potential to allow you to swap circuits to make WX-78 the perfect fit for any situation so long as you prepared and customized correctly, but because of how heavily swapping circuits is punished with long recharge times, you end up just using the light and speed circuits more often than not.

They choose to do 1 skill tree at a time but they start with WX before someone like Wickerbottom?

WX, a character who is completely fine and functional at the moment, HE gets the skill tree before Wickerbottom or Warly???

This is a fever dream, and not a good fever dream either.

How is he completely fine and functional? He is extremely boring right now. Wickerbottom at least has some more interesting perks than circuits you keep plugged in most of the time and don't think about it at all.

Boring is subjective. Functional is objective, objectively you don't need to play Wickerbottom after making her books because objectively Maxwell is better at using them than her. I have 0 intentions to talk about the fun of a character when everyone will have differing opinions on the matter.

I play Wickerbottom, and she is boring for me too because her gameplay revolves around just 1 thing, and then after you fill up your bookcases you just switch to Maxwell. On the second part about fun being subjective, agreed, fair enough.

I am looking forward to WXs skill tree, with two recent reworks on electricity and clockworks in the game - I think this one is going to be a lot of fun!

I do have some concerns about the timeline for future skilltrees, but lets wait and see that roadmap first! One final note: Just so you know Klei, you have allways been top quality for me! ^_^

I dunno if it exactly means we get them slower. Means they dont multitask and put all resources towards one.

Duplication glitch?

Given that it needs to be unlocked, it would have been nice if the Bulbin did some small special thing compared to the other critters. It wouldn't necessarily need to be like the moon moth producing light, but it would be very neat if it would sing with you when you caroled or something. I am still happy with it and it is very cute though

We hope that you agree this focus on quality rather than quantity is the right choice, but this is how we're going to be doing things for a while.

Yes, but it has also been nearly 3 years since the introduction of skill trees and the community can’t keep holding interest, so if every update hereafter could introduce a skill tree OR a skill tree rework, that would be ideal.

I hope the refresh will address wx's limited and repeated play patterns. You should always go for the speed circuit, so wx's customization is already limited from the beginning, not to mention a rook may not spawn on the surface, so it may take additional time to go to ruins to scan one. Why would you want to go through the hassle when other characters have easier access to speed buffs without penalty?

He already does more things than a regular pet, and he has more animations, like rolling over and doing a Sound "tyy-tyy"

Really worried about only one character skill tree this time. Starting to believe skill trees will only be finished early 2028.

It took us 13 months to get this skill tree, by that pace we're looking at late 2032 to wrap everyone up.
