Changes

  • Clockworks can now only be befriended when they are stunned, and the action string has been changed to “Repair”.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed bug where a Rook and a Player with damage reflect could stunlock each other indefinitely.
  • Fixed Mockingbirds blocking placement and sticking around in an invisible state when the Knight Shrine is destroyed.
  • Fixed certain entities that are in a non-workable state, being worked anyways from collision with the Shtick Horse.
  • Fixed Gloombell’s manure disappearing and reviving functionalities not working.
  • Fixed Wilson's Equinor beard side view having some of the Rosette beard art.
  • Fixed Sky Lantern’s global map icons not working properly for other players.
  • Fixed Batilisks not engaging in combat.
  • Fixed Spider Warriors spawning out of their dens immediately going back inside.

Yeah, that feels much more natural than just feeding them gears straight up. Is it possible to mention their weakness to electricity and ability to be tamed in the Scrapbook? It's a powerful feature, though it might go under the radar without extra insight.

Clearly it's because WX specced into electric resistance and ignored water resistance while the clockworks specced into water resistance and lack electric resistance (ignore how the morning star deals more damage to them while wet as well and makes this joke fall apart)

WX is more advanced cause he was made by Wag and human WX both being mega geniuses for their time. Clockworks were made by the stone age magic rock using Ancients. Don't ask how they made metal alloy or wires cause I have no idea. Lota lore inconsistency about if Max made them or if the ancients did.

Could some simple commands be added to these machines? For instance, whether to stop or follow, always following is a bit in the way. At the same time, can the Houndius Shootius be changed to an attack mode similar to that of the Clockwork Bishop? Its animation looks really suitable for electric shock.

That houndius change would ruin some farm design like scrap farm

Easy answer, they are fully machine, WX78 is not & never was, WX78 has a soul, and therefore what short circuits a full machine, gives power to a spirit inhabiting a machine.

I think this its all the changes needed to clockworks, now in orther to use them you first need a mean to electrocute them and early game thats not the most commun thing to do. Even late game it can be a but of a hussle once you keep inventory manegement in mind. combine with the cost in time effort and resources of summoning clockworks upstairs i think clockworks army have the sufficient level of friction.

This has been an absolutly joy of an adittion, words dont make justice to how happy i am for the clockwork changes, Not only they have been redisigned into a much more interesting trio, that works in tandem against you with a lot fo variety and emerging tactics to defeat them. But they have been reworked in such an magnificent way, finally we are getting stun states for pre rift mobs so the player now to look out for them, it takes yet more usage of the new electric dmg  making more impactfull, Absolutly knocked out of the park.

The only thing i can imagine i would like to be added is to maybe add an in game way to learn the stun stage and repair mechanic, We know the bishops were originally made by wagstaff so maybe a research notes about clockworks on the junkyard could be a nice adition. Or even better have a set piece in the ruins implied to be back from when maxwell was king, with a note by maxwell that explains how he stole the clockworks from wagstaff
