Pearl tea should be goodies

I do not agree with the argument "Wigfrid must not have teas due to her character design". DST is not a roleplaying game.

Willow does not burn everything now. Wolfgang does not starve 2x faster now. Woodie's full moon curse is removed (with skill tree). Developers take years to remake characters and make their disadvantages less annoying. And these changes are welcomed.

Goodies already exist. I just don't see any harm in letting people have the choice to have tea or not.

Compensating downsides for the sake of it is kinda dumb. If it’s a role playing game, then Wigfrid won’t eat tea.

Or make Wigfrid not being able to drink the Forget Me Lots (Soothing) tea. So its consistent.

 

..Or wait could she drink it in the first place? Cmon memory stop failing me... I'll have to check if she can't drink it then disregard my post.

At the very least, I think Wigfrid's quotes for the teas should be less harsh. To call Pearl's lovingly home-brewed tea a poisonous "vile concoction" might make the poor old crab shed a tear.

Instead making tea goodies, what about adding real goodies alongwith tea? It is common to have desserts while drinking tea during afternoon tea time.

Instead of just changing 1 tea quote to be positive, they changed like 8 of them to all be negative. seems like a lot more work was done just to make wigfrid hate tea. (she can eat taffy, but after defeating nearly every boss and getting past rift content to move Pearl, she can't drink tea. 10/10 change obviously)

The quote I did was for soothing tea.

She already couldn't drink tea. All the way back to soothing tea.

I know, that's what I'm saying, all they had to do was make the soothing tea less negative. But instead they took the nuclear route and just removed all the ones for Pearl's teas.

If 'refusing to eat vegetables' must be used as a reason, then at least a backup plan should be provided to allow the character to participate in important game content, otherwise I think it is irresponsible.

I think Pearl's AI might not be detailed enough yet. She should take measures based on the characters around her. For instance, when Wigfrid is nearby, she might say: "Dear, I know you don't drink plant-based tea, so I've specially prepared a meat-infused version for you."

After all, by the time the tea shop opens, players have already spent some time with Pearl. She should be aware of the characters' dietary habits.

Behavior like "Hey, I know you have taboos about this, but I'm going to sell it to you anyway!" shouldn't happen. Pearl is a living NPC; she should be someone you can talk to and negotiate with.

This is because the berries can be made to crockpot dishes, meaning they are somewhat useful for the 2. Besides, players may want the gem trees from the seeds, and the seed just works as a lottery, and getting the berry tree is just some kind of not winning the prize. It is common and acceptable to not win prizes when buy lotteries, and even so the berry trees aren't completely useless, as I talked earlier.

However, despite being one of the most important part of new patch, the tea is just completely useless to Wigfrid. (I don't know if it is possible to feed pigs with them, but even it is, no player will make tea for this reason.) Considering the great effort to build a tea shop, Wigfrid players may choose simply ignore it because the rewards are useless to them, and thus the design of such game content becomes meaningless, which is totally unacceptable.

To be fair there is always some form of content that some characters cant interact with and it think thats ok, because there are always similar alternatives, even if it takes more effort. As someone with nearly 3k hours (90% of those being on wormwood and wx) i cant build turrets, or build a merm empire, but i dont care, becase i can build a pig empire, or a ton of houndious shootius (yes i know farming ancient guardians is way harder than being winona). Btw as far as i remember Wickerbottom still cant get winters feast presents from the tree which also sucks.

she used to be sleeping for present with help of gesalt or mandrake but they change it to wicker immune to "sleep"

imagine wigfrid player decorating her house even build the tea shop for granny herself and then when "buying tea" from the "tea shop" she shout " "why u give me poison" when she litterally mix tea infront of her with the ingredients she bought herself. 

why? wigfrid dumb ? or have memory of goldfish?

that would be so unfair and silly though. why does wigfrid deserve to get even more special privileges that other characters dont get? it is just whining for the sake of whining. you and other wigfrid players never said a single thing about any of the other character with restrictions. where is the big brouhahaha over wickerbottom not getting to do winters feast or wurt not getting to do hallows eve or wortox just having half-stats entirely over ALL food consumption? this is insincere and spoiled behaviour.

1- I do think that it's unfair for wurt and wicker to be excluded from holidays 

2- wortox can still eat the food that's just how his downside works?

3- unlike the other cases you've stated, this specific thing with the tea requires SO much more work. You have to befriend Pearl, kill pearled CK, cc, activate rifts, AND defeat all 3 mutated bosses, THEN re-home Pearl and start building up the tea shop. Then proceed to get the tea. 

I understand having a downside, but restricting something this late in to the game just seems lame.

(But I agree, wicker SHOULD be getting a work around for this upcoming Winters Feast, and I should probably make a post about that)

it is lame but it is also fair when you are told at the very beginning what the up-side and down-side of the character is and the game enforces it(though i have seen a LOT of bending of the rules have been done solely for this character alone already so i can see why people dont expect to have to play by the rules here). mostly my ire comes from people boiling down a large chain of events and actions and throwing away every single reward EXCEPT the sole single reward that is not available to them and throwing a large fit over it as if it was something major and important. yes it sucks only getting to enjoy 98% of the rewards but also why is wigfrid not getting to raise/lower her body temp by drinking tea the hill to die on when she still has full access to all of the other methods of doing just that? there is also the issue that this is not a single-player-only game and that is not the only reward. doing these tasks rewards everyone on the server including players who can drink tea and there are several rewards that are not even consumable that she can have with no fuss. it smells pretty bad from here.

Y'all wanna hear something crazy?

As far as I can tell soothing tea has always been a generic-type food, however...the code in preparedfoods.lua had a commented out line which would specify it as a goodies type food. Klei was clearly on the fence about letting Wigfrid drink tea.

Also, in terms of lore, I've definitely read about vikings drinking a hallucinogenic nightshade tea which turned them into berserkers. Just saying, because ya know, we have these nightberries...
