As far as I can tell soothing tea has always been a generic-type food, however...the code in preparedfoods.lua had a commented out line which would specify it as a goodies type food. Klei was clearly on the fence about letting Wigfrid drink tea.

Also, in terms of lore, I've definitely read about vikings drinking a hallucinogenic nightshade tea which turned them into berserkers. Just saying, because ya know, we have these nightberries...

You can also tell they were on the fence about it because they initially had quotes that sounded like she enjoyed the new teas.

They changed these quotes to a single "it's vile" quote. So they decided during the beta on "no".

I think it can still go either way because it's open-ended. I would prefer to have some substitute recipes, some goodies reclassified so what remains are not directly fruit/veggie derived liquids and sweets, and let her eat these while in darkness.

• Mushy Cake becomes a veggie, add a meat recipe that requires 1 Leafy and 2 Cooked Moon Shrooms with a shorter shelf life and a similar effect
• Add a meat recipe for candied fish that requires 1 Fish and 3 Honey
• Daiquiri can become a veggie

Nothing will make Wurt eat meat. It's fair that Wigfrid doesn't drink tea. TEA is not a GOODIE, its a LIFESTYLE.

And lets be honest, she doesnt need it. She's a better Wolfgang with charisma. 

But wig mains are noisy, just like her. It's very likely that klei will give up at some point.

Is there a possibility that the three characters you mentioned all have abilities far beyond the other characters, abilities that the others can only look up to? And tea is something all characters can enjoy, so why would being able to drink tea as Wigfrid be considered a special privilege above others in your view? Nowadays, Wigfrid's exclusive items and her combat abilities are overshadowed by more diverse food options and late-game equipment. For other characters, these hardly count as particularly enviable abilities. In contrast, Wickerbottom's book abilities are all exceptionally strong. Even basic magical mass food production can provide her with a lot of sanity recovery, compensating for the drawback of not being able to sleep. The Winter Feast gifts are somewhat disappointing, as they don't actually offer very generous loot and are limited in frequency, making them optional content. Walter cannot eat meat but gains extra benefits from vegetarian food, and with the extremely cheap cost of hiring mermen plus the terrifying scale and limits of his army, his work efficiency and combat cannot be rivaled by other characters. If you use the Merm King Factory, you might not even need to build advanced merm fortresses. Warly only gets half the benefits from regular food, but no one forces him to eat regular food or stops him from eating it. Most importantly, when souls are easily obtainable, they provide Wortox with a constant source of food, healing, and teleportation. With souls being so strong and easy to collect, the maximum sanity loss only forces you to deal with two Nightmares, which isn't really difficult. However, tea provides a very significant boost, and the tea shop is related to an NPC involved in the main story. Additionally, the benefits from tea do not directly stop Wigfrid from disliking all vegetarian food, so how can it be considered a privilege?

I think that if Wigfrid is not allowed to drink tea, at least a universal alternative option for all characters could be provided, similar to the Meated Nettles that Hamlet later adds. It could even offer some additional benefits for Wigfrid to a moderate extent, which would make the game content choices more diverse and interesting.

Don't you think it's funny that you say 'rules'? No one is told in detail from the very beginning of the game exactly how a character should be played, or which items a character shouldn't use. Everyone makes their own subjective guesses based on common sense. Some counterintuitive or unexpected things can only be learned through actual practice. Where did you get the idea that players are told the character rules from the start? Since when has this game been non-negotiable? Isn't it possible that this 'rule' is something you made up in your own mind and are trying to enforce on others?

is rather interesting that all special food that has special effect are all pretty much plant based, the only special effect wurt cant have is warly waterproof dish, which wurt doesnt even need it

Wigfrid's identity must be maintained. She is an actress who embodies the fantasy of a warrior who feeds exclusively on meat. In fact, the possibility of consuming goodies should be removed from her. Furthermore, she is an extremely broken character, almost a god mode. Already recovers health and sanity in combat. Everyone here knows that Wigfrid has a soft downside, as the impact of dietary restrictions is null compared to the entire menu of very powerful meat-based foods. She is the character who benefits most from the use of Shadow Maul, further increasing the powerful life regeneration system. She is the character who benefits most from the Enlightened Crown as she is able to maintain her sanity above 85% more easily due to her sanity regeneration bonus. When the update came and gave the mobs a stun effect due to the shock, the first thing I noticed: they were giving another buff to Wigfrid.

It actually does seem pretty unreasonable that wurt is locked out of the pig king infinite candies and pumpkin stuff. I guess it’s a pretty big gameplay change for a seasonal event only, but it’s meant to be fun. 

 

Mushy cake doesnt bother me (I am biased). Sleep resist is a fundamental effect at this point so we’d just end up with a meat alternative and then the non wurt cast would get to pick the better option. I think it’s more reasonable than jellybeans or daiquiri for example.
