i think the dlc expansion for board game sould be part of the base...simple because the game does not exist therefor dlc makes no sense, it feels like purposfully cut contend in a way if you know what i mean?

Good cause I aint touching that cash cow. I saw theyre reworking combat completely. So the game theyve been showcasing on youtube aint even the game yall are gonna get. Whole thing just seems sketchy.

Would rather save my money and finally buy silksong. Way more value in that.

I wouldn't even mind buying a board game blindly as a casual player, even if I am purely interested in the cosmetic skins. Sure, board games at their essence are fun. What irks and throws me off is the insane price (if you are only after collecting all of the exclusive (?) skins), the deliberate lack of information, the lack of creativity with subsequent stretch goals (considering the fountain of funding money) and fact that the game looks extremely bland in comparison to its price tag. Questionable value indeed. Or, no... not even that. It's extremely poor value, and for no apparent reason. Sorry. The skins are gorgeous, but > 250 $ is simply predatory (minus shipping costs, of course, mind you!) for a board game made out of acrylic and paper regardless of how much effort went into making it.

I wish the forums had a thinking reaction specifically so I can use it on this one single comment. This is weird and I'm wondering how things are gonna go. I'm gonna stay pledged because I like the minis, but I hope the game that I'm spending three quintillion dollars on is fun to play :steamhappy:

This!

Yes, expansions in almost every case are meant to add features later on which warrant additional work. Here the game has not been finalized but the expansions will be available by the same time it ships in big numbers and with accompanying price tags. It makes zero sense from the players' perspective.

It is stranger still that people who pledge the most expensive option where the name suggests they get everything won't even get everything. Now there are small sets that said people can buy to make up for the discrepancies in the type of mini figures on top of the super expensive pledge.

I'm sure Warly and Wes will end up in the game, and I wouldn't be surprised if they're announced before the game is actually shipped.

With 12 hours left and at $4.4M, Warly has been added as a stretch goal at $5M. I imagine the stretch goal will carry over to the pledge manager phase.

Yes, that was the joke.

I've been a hater on them this whole time and I'm still being a hater and I'm not saying they're not super greedy, but I am pleasantly surprised to see that the entirety of Warly has been consolidated into a single goal instead of split up into several different parts across the course of $500,000-$1,000,000 like the other characters. Although he doesn't get a holographic card, so they hate him....

Unfortunately it will not carry-over. The community has found a way to game the system though, and the devs confirmed that it will work.

Once the campaign end, and it reaches the pledge manager phase, you can modify your pledge. Removing content will first go towards paying for your shipping, and then any more will be refunded. People have started donating their shipping costs to the campaign as a way to make it count towards the stretch goals. Here's hoping we get to 5M.

Don't worry. Deadpan doesn't always land, and the internet doesn't make it any easier. I blame the internet.

Even if they say that it won't, I'd be very surprised if they don't later "change their minds" "due to popular demand" or something. They have forecasts in advance for how many people will back the project and what funding levels they'll reach as well as the production costs per unit including all stretch goals. They've done concept and design work on all goals. This is all factored in. They've made silent adjustments to the stretch goals during the campaign so they remain on target, that is one reason why the stretch goals weren't all announced from the beginning. While there's always a last minute push, especially with new incentives, and I don't have the data to back it up, I find the $500K last day bump unrealistic and I'd assume they know it too. We'll see.

Oh, and they're already teasing there'll be more characters later.

The daily reveal things they post are always funny

The soundtrack (like YouTube), the soundboard (like YouTube), achievements (like a spreadsheet, look at the picture how you just click on them to say you did it)... It is just such a stark contrast to see these companion app reveals right next to awesome things like this magnificently chinned miniature

It is the last one, but the daily is pretty sick today

Who're all the characters in the board game? Wilson, Wendy, Willow, Webber, Wigfrid, Wurt, Warly, WX, Wickerbottom, Winona, Woodie, Walter, Wortox, Wormwood, Maxwell, and Wolfgang? That's a pretty good lineup. They're just missing Wes, Wagstaff, Walani, Wilbur, Woodlegs, Wheeler, Wilba, Wanda, and I guess Wonkey. They got all the important ones. Only one I'd miss is Wes 'cause he rules.

Yeah it's pretty solid lineup. When I saw that Wolfgang was an exclusive character, I thought that it was just going to be the 5 of them. Now it is all but 2 of the DST cast. I'm eager to see how some of them play.

Hopefully they make it clear at that thing they're advertising the game at that late pledges still go towards the stretch goals, 'cause the pledged amount has almost frozen completely solid ever since the campaign ended.

It's gonna be harder than I thought. I know there's a significant amount of people who couldn't back on kickstarter since it only lets you pay over 3 months. GCU's pledge manager lets you pay over 6. I was hoping to get a large bump when the pledge manager comes out, but I'm pretty sure that's actually the deadline for stretch goals.

In any case, I'm staying hopeful

Yeah on the last day it went from something around $4,500,000 to $4,800,000. Now it's at $4,813,497. It's gained about $14,000 today. It's going like 20x slower.

I think they should make it more obvious that you can still work towards the pledge goal. At the top of the page it says you can back, but has no mention that it will contribute towards stretch goals.

You have to scroll down past an extra ~400 words to get to the part where it says that you can still contribute to the stretch goals.

Since the Kickstarter ended we've gotten a quarter of the way to Warly. What's the end date for this? Is there any chance of making it?

As far as I'm aware, it is until they open up the pledge manager which was estimated to be 3 months after the campaign ended. I think it still has an okay chance. Hopefully there are more advertisements on social media for it
