Changes

  • Added Withered Light Flowers to the Fumarole area.
  • The Fumarole area will retrofit in past worlds.
  • Haunting mimicked Items will now reveal them.
  • Added rooms in the Sanctum where you can find new Fountains of Knowledge and a new Playbill.
  • Modified the Ancient Orchestrina puzzle so that it doesn’t fully reset on a single mistake.
  • Added more minimap icons for objects in the Sanctum.
  • Sanctum will now reset at the same time as Ruins reset.
    • This will be changed in future updates after the questline is completed.
  • Acid Rain will no longer fall in the Sanctum.
  • Added unique art for "The Pall" play book.

 

Bug Fixes

  • Creatures with Void Masques will no longer drop loot when despawning off-screen.
  • Fixed irreplaceable items being able to go through the giant whirlpool.
  • Fixed Wortox being unable to use his own Twintailed Heart in the Sanctum.
  • Fixed mimicked Phasmo Encapsulators not being revealed when attempting to perform the Encapsulate action.
  • Fixed several cases of being able to make use of a mimicked item by unequipping it during the action.
  • Fixed heavy objects getting stuck floating in the air when unloaded.
  • Fixed an issue with Light Flowers playing their idle animation when they should be in their charged or recharging animation on game load.
  • Fixed some creatures running to Ancient Moon Statues due to thinking it is a light.
  • Fixed a potential issue where the Fumarole area is unable to generate in a world with Looping set to always.
  • Fixed Teletransport Station being duplicated when multiple Winonas dismantle it at the same time.
  • Fixed some cases where Wanda’s teleporting watches should not be usable inside the Sanctum.
  • Fixed Boulderboughs looping their growth stage.
  • Fixed shadows materializing on the Stage flooring when the Mockingbirds appear.
  • Fixed Boulderboughs using the incorrect loot table for the Sanctum rooms.
  • Fixed inaccurate scrapbook icons for Damaged Knight, Grass Gekko, Pure Gestalt, Celestial Scion, and Enlightened W.A.R.B.O.T.

is the retro fitted fumarole biome for you guys connected to old terrain cause mine isn't and a wormhole leads to it...

cant see our new wormy friend either..

 

also the new rotten light bulb plants can only be picked once and then they are gone, is this intentional?

Might have been a nice rot source if they regrew.

This was the case when they introduced the grotto too, so I suspect every retrofitted world will have the same way of generating the fumarole biome

Bruh, why is this biome so small?
Plus, it spawns so far away that it can't be connected by bridges :sad:. This would be the perfect opportunity to use them.
Retrofitting a new biome should at least always spawn it at a distance that can be connected by bridges. Rather than using the wormhole method.

This is intentional. For new mainland biomes, creating an island far out is the best we can provide to ensure every past world is able to consistently retrofit the Fumarole area without issue. The Lunar Grotto and Ancient Archives were retrofitted through this manner, and it will likely be the same for any future biomes.

Your 'wormy friend' will appear when the Shadow Rifts are currently active and you enter the area. If this is not the case, please drop a bug report.

I can't even launch my world into beta - it gives me this error when I try it. Yes, I already disabled all the server mods and it didn't help either. Earlier today this world was working in beta already and I saw two Sanctum rooms retrofitted (but not Fumarole), it was launching properly before today's beta patch. 

@V2Cwhat can I do to solve this issue and launch my existing world in beta to see how the retrofitting works?

Aaaaaaand mimics are officially pointless, useless and yet another nuisance in the world that we'll just ignore for the rest of the game now.....

It was such a unique fun gimmick that made them a cool asset for certain stuff. Walter gets to interact with mimics in this unique way but if another character wants it, gets patched to the ground.

You still lost sanity when using the green amulet and the encapsulator, so it wasn't completely free. Also the haunting patch was just to nerf mimic life amulets...  

 

 

oh well.. at least the lore makes it up for this bad change lol. Can't wait to get my hands on that new puzzle and see what's those 2 fountains about lol

This. The separate island connected via a wormhole looks weird and doesn't make sense. Not to mention it's a lot smaller than a properly generated Fumarole biome on a new map, meaning players in the old worlds will get less boulderbough seeds in their worlds. Unfair.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. Here's the server log file for the caves shard of the world that's currently failing to start:
server_log.txt

Earlier today I had the same issue with another old world but now after the patch that one managed to magically start and did retrofit Fumarole biome as well. The shadow centipede did not appear in it though, despite shadow rifts being currently activated and open (there's a shadow rift portal glowing on the minimap). 
Here's the server log of the second world without the shadow centipede, just in case: server_log.txt

The crash issue is related to the new Sanctum Relics and has been fixed in-dev.

The centipede will be investigated.

That's how retrofitting for this biome works on old worlds. It spawns a tiny island so remote that it can't be connected by bridges at all.

And it also spawns a wormhole so you can get to it.
