It seems to me that the new biome, after the changes, lacks fauna to make it unique, and for this I have a couple of ideas.

1.Add old mobs like Moleworm.

2.Add a new mob, lava larva

(I came up with the idea after I remembered one mob from another game that I think you'll recognize right away.)

The lava larva will be a mob inhabiting fumaroles in the absence of rifts and will attack players by spitting a small amount of lava. If the nearest fumaroles are destroyed, then as long as there are no rifts, she will create new fumaroles in the biome.

This mob will always be there with the earthquakes. Bats will also be there to get the nitre (surprise appearance), mobs possessed by Void Masques, and the Ickers.

They could combine the words "lava" and "larvae". Call them "lavae".

Wouldn’t it just be the little worms that attack you during the Dragonfly boss fight though? You know… the ones people avoid interacting with at all by building a huge wall that tricks their A.I. into taking them out of the equation?

A new idea like a large snail, or insect of some kind would seem okay. Not much life can live close to that much heat but some things have been proven able to do so, perhaps some inspiration could be taken from that considering a lot of the residents of the constant tend to be warped, merged or exaggerated versions of things that already exist.

I for one welcome the idea of lava slugs or magma beetles.

This beta is over. I don't think they'll implement anything new. The question is about Part 2 and when it will start. The next update could even be a character update (skill tree update).

Judging by the ton of content in the code and the items, it will still be actively under development, so even if there are no changes in the 1st part of the update, they can always be in the 2nd

I agree with you, but I think they're faithfully following their internal planning. If they're already planning to add mobs, they'll naturally do it. Now, if they're something new in their planning, there's a good chance they'll ignore it to focus on the main project.

You can still come up with ideas, as developers know how to listen...

Seriously.. no im not joking, as an Xbox player (Xbox has never had Klei official servers) we NEVER got to play the limited time Forge event but these… backgrounds from an event we never got to play: are the only thing left in the game. Klei has also stated that it would cost too much to re-run these events.

I suggest that instead of bringing the limited time mode back at all, that they incorporate the mobs even if they have to change their gameplay mechanics from the Event into the core gameplay loop.

For this mob in particular I imagine like the image eludes towards: they could erupt out of the ground from the lava cracks or the new Furmarole, they could be a stationary mob that throw small lava rock projectiles towards the player.

So in short: They erupt upwards, throw a few projectiles and then crash back down hidden inside the fissure again.

This is just ONE of the many mobs or animations they could repurpose.

Theres also already sprites for many different types of burnt trees for example.

I hope so. Is this real?

I'd be happy with just Rock Lobsters or something that absolutely gets screwed over once the Rifts open up. But it does feel quite empty.

Rock lobsters are kinda mid creatures. Adding them there wont do anything.

Yeah, the files are real.
But obviously, things are subject to change. It could totally not make it into this week, or it may. We'll have to see.

Okay.. but if Klei does a Rock Spider instead of a magma one (based off Webbers magmatic head no less!) then that’s just going to be utterly disappointing. & besides isn’t a rock spider basically what those armored cave spiders that are hard to kill already are?

Perhaps we can refer to real-life conditions like Hydrothermal vent, where there are shellfish, shrimps, crabs, worms, starfish, sea anemones, sea urchins and so on.

It is possible to consider generating some animals such as Sea cucumbers, shadowy Wobsters, sea sprouts, starfish, etc.

Also, perhaps this place could be used to house Extra-Adorable Lavae.

Yeah but that’s for the ocean rhis is the caves.

Well, that refers to the ecology of the seabed, not the surface. (Hydrothermal vent is generally regarded as a place where there is no sunlight.)
In the latest update, we can consider the world of the cave as a linked place on the seabed, so it is reasonable to design an ecological reference with geysers like the deep-sea seabed.

After all, trap starfish did not really emerge in Marine areas either.
