Infused Moon Shards are reliable to gain Pure Brilliances. They are also the material to summon CC and create Brightshade Bombs. And the latest Lunar Hail allow us to get a lot of Infused Moon Shards in daily game while don't have to activate Moonstorm.

But the regular Moon Shards, they are ignored in the late game.2025-07-28182222.png.af85605c6982db48d9794866c6a4c5a5.png

And 4 TINGLE Nodes need 6 Moon Shards 6 Scraps

As you can see, we really don't have any rewarding measures to consume them post CC. Especially CC(17~32 drops from itself, 1 from every Enlightening Snare) and Lunar Hail would generate tons of Moon Shards, which is far beyond the amount we need in the rift period.

One of my favorite updates in this beta is the moon recipes. Glass cutter and axe make Moon Shards much more useful and bath bomb makes them more sustainable. And it is confusing that Moon Shards don't have many uses post CC, a boss drops so many of them. And Brightshade equipment and other rift things replace them so quickly and completely.

I suggest that the upgraded Celestial Orb can unlock new recipes that consume Moon Shards to create something useful in the rift period. This also makes CC more rewarding.

It’s hard to tell right now, but I feel like the TINGLE will be a good way to use up a lot of our extra moon glass.

Maybe they could add structures using moon glass, like moon glass walls or a moon glass pillar for the caves that has 1.5x the radius, but breaks 2x as fast. A speedy, smaller moon glass boat that breaks much easier, the possibilities are endless! There is now plenty of opportunity to add fun things to moon glass now that it’s much more abundant late game.

Well making many TINGLES will take a lot of moonshards however i am still more worried about scrap farming for them.

Somewhat deviating here, but you can dupe scrap the same way you can dupe dreadstone.

Isn’t this also being addressed by making glass cutter and axe more viable?

Somewhat. Glass cutters are only for the 1st 15 days after CC, after that you get brightshade sword. Axes might be useful if you don't have bearger yet or for the 1 fight with toad. They'd certainly be useful if rushing, but I assume the post is more about long term play.

My partner's killed Toadstool at least 8 times in my current world. The extra shroom skin is very nice, and it takes a LOT of kills to get all the blueprints (especially for more than one person), so moon glass axes remain useful in this way forever. They're also good for more precise tasks, like clearing out trees nearby your base to expand in that direction, where Bearger would be too much of a bulldozer and possibly end up destroying some of your stuff.

That being said, it's still nowhere near enough to slow down the constant flow of glass from CC kills and lunar hail. Since it only becomes a problem so late game, maybe it'd be nice if there were a decorative wall or something that could be crafted with a large amount of glass? Or an expensive furniture set? Hell, let me feed them to slurtles, I'd take that.

make glass edible

This made me laugh. Theoretically, as confirmed by the game, glass is not normal glass but an organic lovecraftian object, so the survivors could try it...... with a -25 health penalty because well, it's still glass.

I think it would be really cool to get sea/boat stuff using glass, it is somewhat linked to sea exploration since thats how you reach moon island and you also get some glass out of sunken chests. And isn't grotto supposed to be like, a sea leak that "contaminated" a part of the caves or something like that?

I don't know for what exactly but, maybe glass bumpers? moon glass buoys to have some light areas on the sea? an improved moon glass anchor or steering wheel that are easier to handle?

You can make farm producing around 60 scrap per day using terramite, only required around 8 min to build

btw, better surround stone fruit with wall, or moleworm will grab it causing the whole farm messed up

Yes. It's literally the moon island, a part of the moon, that when it falled down to the "Constant", it created a big sea leak to a secluded closed area in the caves, thus creating the lunar grotto.

Its not as silly as it sounds..

the year of  bunnymen foods look like they are made with moon glass, specifically moon cake and moon jelly, and letting us make them in the crockpot using (charged) moonglass would be pretty neat and a great usecase for it, maybe 1-2 glass per dish?

(if this is to strong for moon cake, then maybe make it also require a tallbird egg , cause those are rare and blue?)

Why do they keep spinning, shouldn't they cut the bush?

They were never supposed to cut the bushes.

They keep spinning because of stone fruit on the ground, and stone fruit bush got collision box to prevent it moving forward
