One thing I have to mention here, I really feel like the drops are a scam. I have no problem with the boss's hp since that's his tank identity, but needing to kill misery for all drops is kinda weird, I just wish that mechanic changed a bit into something better.

I wouldn't mind some changes to toadstool, think the biggest one is having his trees being less durable, as I really don't like how the best way to clear his trees is bringing a bunch of weather pains. Doubley so when I'm playing with controller, weather pain is A PAIN to use.

But you aren't most people. I bet most people not even use glass axes despite being cheap and handy.

The fight is unique, really easy and fun. If anything,they could raise the number of skin dropped by both versions

I still remember how extremely BAD it felt after defeating him for the first time and seeing that I need to kill a double health version to guaranteed my drop. Felt like I was being scammed and it was way before I even was in the forums. Was one of the first things I actually questioned the game about, all the work I had to do only to not get the blueprint I wanted is criminal.

I like it when games have challenges to overcome. While Toadstool isn't my favorite boss fight, it having an extra difficult version isn't a bad thing.

Despite the first time beating Toadstool being a pretty grueling experience, I didn't feel bad knowing that there was an even more difficult version of the boss, I was excited for the next challenge.

Now, years later, strategies have been developed to fight Toadstool using very few resources/setup.

Instead of reworking Toadstool, I would much prefer Klei just introducing a new boss and leaving Toadstool as is.

It's not much about him heaving a different version, but more so that the drops he gives you are random when killing the regular version, which I don't think makes sense other than making the player have to wait for him to respawn and kill him again. But I guess that's not that big of a problem for me today, is just that at the time, I felt like I wasn't rewarded for killing him.

His health should be lower for solo players, his drops are basically useless and they need to be better, it sucks having to fight Misery Toadstool to get the not-all-that-good-anyway napsacks, and it'd be nice if the spore caps took less hits to chop down than they currently do so that using axes as someone other than Woodie would actually be a viable strategy over weather pain spam (those volt goat horns hurt to burn when they could be jelly instead).

every toad fight i have been in(both solo and in a group) there have been glass axes, weatherpains or both. it has been a common strat for the entirety of the time i have been playing this game

 

 

as for changes i would be happy if the tree health was reduced, it is suuuuch a grind to do it solo and a big part of that is the chopping

A lot of people also simply use golden axes+WP or simply torches/fire staffs or only WP

Also glass axes are relatively new compared to toad

if it helps/hurts glass axes have been around longer than i have been playing X''D

My only gripe is how long the fight takes. But I feel the same way with the majority of boss fights. Few exceptions, but BQ, TS, CC, and DF are so boring because of just how much health they have without having engaging mechanics.

AFW I'm fine with just dislike how punishing its healing is. I just want TS and Dfly to give more Skins/Scales so fighting them isn't a PitA

it's probably only too much health because you're trying to face them in singleplayer, in multiplayer a lot of them honestly dont have enough health and go down within a minute or two

That's why I keep suggesting health scaling. The way the New Reign bosses are, they're too much solo and not enough with more than two or three friends.

conversely the burning time could be reduced to 30 or maybe even 15 seconds (it's 45 because sporecaps are considered trees and all trees burn for at least that long), I do like the sporeclouds appearing because it creates a positioning challenge 

Only thing I dislike is the hat drop rng. 

I wish I could trade it somewhere to get the hat I want. I don't see how you need a separate recipe to craft the same item but with different materials. (Yes the hats look different but that's a design choice).

I think it should stay 3 separate recipes for Klaus but one combined recipe for normal toadstool.
