So where does the Ancient Fuelweaver go?

Recommended Posts

I noticed that the Ancient Fuelweaver, when it's killed, has happen to it exactly what happens to Winona with Shadow Seeker II (thorn vines come from the ground and restrain them, they twirl into a ball of shadow, and then the ball deposits into the ground leaving behind a single rose. This happens for both Fuelweaver and Winona when they die as well, making it seem even more deliberate.

We know that, when this happens to Winona after her death, she is transported to either the portal or a Night Light. My question is thus, what happens to the Fuelweaver when they're taken away? Any theories?

I timestamped these so all you have to do is click on the video and it'll take you to the parts in question.

Winona's (credit to Jakeyosaurus for the video):

Ancient Fuelweaver's (credit to flyingfish for the video)

I believe if Fuelweaver drops his head, bones and thurible additionally from Charlie as a gift, he is weakened enough and his soul is likely absorbed by Charlie herself. Since she isn't willingly gonna show herself unless for very specific things that were to happen she as well would swoop the kill away or give sketches/blueprints as sort of magic rewards for the effort of doing her work.

As for Winona... Likely her soul also is taken away, corpse is buried and a rose blooms from it. After that, her flesh reconstructs from the roots of the roses at the postern, with enough nightmare fuel, plant material and her soul she is rebuilt. Or the boring way that she gets taken away near death, swallowed by plants and transported immediately as she's rebuilt enough to live.

well the wiki has this on trivia about the bone helmĀ

  • "The deconstruction effect suggests the Helm is constructed of bone fragments bound by Nightmare Fuel, which means that the Ancient Fuelweaver is not destroyed when he is killed, but is rather bound back to the shadow dimension while some parts of him that were bound by the nightmare residue remain intact and bound by the "flesh" of the Fuelweaver long after he is obliterated. This in turn may mean that all shadow creatures are never killed, but just transport back to the shadow dimension, leaving behind the residue - Nightmare Fuel."

by this logic everyone else had gone to the shadow dimension, especially when revived via touchstone

by hey, it's juuuuuuust a theory

No, really, he goes into the Shadow Thurible. The bone armor and helm are the skeletal body the Fuelweaver uses as a vessel, while the Shadow Thurible contains the shadow energy that's actually him, hence why it lures the Reanimated Skeletons around. The Fuelweaver's presence in the fight is only necessary to charge up the Ancient Gateway and get it ready to be repaired with dreadstone, so once it's all charged up Charlie just grabs the Fuelweaver and compresses him down into the Thurible, ending the fight and also rewarding you for being cooperative.

I don't understand the logic here, how it extrapolates from this phenomenon to its conclusion. And I don't think we can make bold assumptions about AFW is a shadow creature.

Anyway, I decided to edit this page to remove it
