I really like the skill tree.

Wendy was already very strong and didn't need more strength and so I'm very happy with a skill tree that mostly gives convenience. Less pipspook grinding, so much better Abigail control, an elixier to level her up on the fly after a revive.

And I have always longed for a way to incooperate headstones into my base with Wendy. So much that I've based near them on purpose. Imagine my delight when I saw those skills.

Moggleless nightvision. I'm still a bit undecided on that one. It does feel very good in the ruins but getting moggles is not a big deal.

The only skills I'm not a fan of is the sisturns line. Never been much of a fan of the sisturn anyway.

More skills that I like then what I have points for. Choices!

We did took more time to review the tree, but it's too late now lol

Console players just got the update, so “controller exclusive problems***” are just NOW actually being “Tested”

And with that said: It seems Wendy was silently nerfed, what do I mean? I mean that with the new changes (aka giving her a “command wheel Abigail” it now takes significantly longer to perform basic Abigail functions that used to be fast, simple and easy.

Most noteable: Soothe & Riled Up.

I don’t think anyone has actually play tested this, they’re all too focused on how much damage Wendy does or whatever… but from my own experience, it now takes me longer to scroll to the flower in my inventory, tap the D-pad to open the command wheel, select the action I want Abigail to perform and then confirm it.

What does this mean for NON-BOSS related gameplay? Well it freaking means those few seconds longer of needing to navigate to the flower, open a command wheel and select an action: Means Wendy has to stand still longer, and take longer to change Abigail’s stance.

So: If you were trying to farm bees, without Abigail destroying the bee nests, yeah that’s not something you’ll be able to do anymore, because by the time you open the menu and switch from riled mode to Sooth mode: That nest is Destroyed.

use to fighting large groups of hound using beefalo in a Savannah's? (with Abby’s help) Yeah you can’t easily switch her away from riled stance so she’s gonna tick off those beefalo now.

This used to be a Abigail command prompt we could quickly switch between with the simple press of a dpad button.. but the delay in timing, has completely ruined everything I knew how to do as Wendy.

That the console-only problem, as pc user we can just use the wheel like maxwell use his book. That why noone notice it until now, as beta arent available for console.

You'll have to relearn Wendy a bit, and that's okay. In particular, the last command you chose will be remembered by the game, i.e if you last Riled up Abigail then all you have to do is open the wheel and press A and it will automatically have Soothe selected, which is honestly far far more convenient than playing with keyboard and mouse: where you have to click on the bottom left of your screen and then move your mouse to the middle of the screen and specifically choose the command you want to use.

To be fair, this was brought up multiple times during the beta, with suggestions like "make Abigail replicate Wendy's movement" or the like, to make it better for controllers, because, believe it or not, you CAN use controller on PC Don't Starve. Most people just don't use it because the game is clearly designed for mouse and keyboard, and it feels much better to play with that.

Sadly, the few controller players that were on the beta forums coudln't come with a good idea for how to fix it on Controller, and many of us were using mods like there because, believe it or not, the wheel is also not ideal for keyboard+mouse.

If you can think of a better implementation control scheme for controller, I'm pretty sure Klei would gladly implemented it.
