Cafting Menu

Can we please, please, PLEASE-PLEASE-PLEASE have the old crafting menu back?? DST is all about doing things in the nick of time, and there's no nick of time actions with the new, chaotic crafting menu! Especially if you're playing with controller - which I have been doing since early access!

There's no finding anything quickly. I can't jump to the fire-tab in a split second as I don't play with mouse, and then I'll die while panicking over trying to find the right submenu!

It's SO hard to play with this new menu. Can we at least have the option to choose between them?

I know it's about the programming and organizing issue, but the old menu was so much easier to access and use. The UI is just terrible with the new one :wilson_cry:
It used to work once - can some of us at least have the opportunity to switch back to the old menu as an option? The game is much less fun after the new menu came into use and I have never gotten used to it and find it as chaotic as first time every time I play :c

Pretty pretty please with sugar on top???

I would be willing to sit through the scrolling of all the recipes just to get the easier menu back. Otherwise, you could let us use the right stick to skip 5 recipes at a time to make it easier on the patience.

Just... PLEASE?? :wilson_cry:

You can see them in the “everything” tab (I admittedly use this quite a bit, it helps a lot with referencing character specific recipes in advance without having to hop on the wiki).

There's 10 pages of tabs and there's no way I'd actually use all 10 so I have some character specific tabs.

The way I play it, I use different tabs for different stages of the game:

1st - torch, basic tools like axe, shovel, hammer etc, + spear (mostly flint items)

2nd - torch + golden tools + hammer, so no flint usage, hambat and football helmet

3rd - kitchen setup, 4th - boat setup, etc

 

But many tabs have repeatable items like weapons / light sourses anyways because in critical moment messing with craft tabs is the latest thing you want to do. And yes when you play alone you can pause the game, but if you don't?

 

So my opinion:

- 10 tabs is welcome to hell. While it's good to have opportunity to fill 10, sometimes 4 is too much - I prefer to stay on 1-2 tabs rarely switching to 3-4-5.

- as you can see some tabs use repeatable items, like torch in tab 1 and tab 2. For Willow I can free the slots completely. For Wormwood I might want to add gardening tools or even separate gardener tab. For Wes I'd like to add speedy baloon to 1st (early crafts) tab. 

I'm fine with new menu, got used to it after all, but I think possibilty to make per-character castomized menu would be beneficial.

 

Wow it's been a long while since i seen one of those "I want old crafting menu back" threads.

How time flies.

Also No the new crafting menu is way better than old one. And far more customizable and has a gosh darn search bar.

After playing DST and DS back to back some time ago i wished Klei added it to DS too or at lest hoped there was a mod that emualted the DST menu for DS.

Utilize the quick craft tabs if you want to craft soemthing quickly or use a mod that downgrades the new crafting menu to how similar it looked and worked before. There are mods available like this.
